Here's another Annealing machine ( much cheaper ) but uses torches , available at Brownells http://www.brownells.com/reloading/case-preparation/case-prep-units/case-neck-annealing-machine-prod97922.aspx?utm_medium=email&utm_source=marketo&utm_campaign=2017_01_12_newproducts&utm_content=newproducts&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTVRJeVkyWmxZVFl5WW1SaSIsInQiOiJPeWRaWGRHaTNlQ3VKXC8xdnRoQ21wUlpmZUw4eThhTFBXWDZTaTRKWUdOSGdvenRLSWl0eTY3eGRLQitcL0duOHc4REo0RFdWRVRTR2QzVkprOFwveERDSk4xNlZtZUxHNExxUEhIekpReDlyMnlHWGxabDRHRTRWMkhRWXBudlJ5OCJ9

I was wondering if you were going to use the components from an existing Buffer for the poly bumper on the end & I looked around to see if you can get any internal or that bumper & found this , by Buffer technologies , https://www.galatiinternational.com/product/BTR150.html Thing is , you can get a complete Buffer assembly for less in some places , but , would it be the same material as a Buffer technologies one .z

If you did get 5.27" end to end , its the correct length Buffer for a 308AR , as long as the weight is correct . I pulled my 308AR DPMS Buffer & it measured 5.295" with a Digital Caliper . The AR 15 Rifle Buffer is 5.8975" If your Buffer is what you say it is , the issue you have is the POS product of a Buffer . Order one from a reputable retailer & if your Buffer Spring is correct , then you found your issue . 308AR rifle Buffer on the right
-
Thats an AR 15 Buffer , you need a 308 Buffer . Unless that photo of yours of its measurement is an optical illusion , that Buffer is longer then 5.27", looks like 5 1/2" & its not showing its being measured from end to end . Measure the Buffer Spring & count the Coils to make sure you have a 308 Rifle Buffer Spring & not an AR 15 Spring .

Probably made for Ruger by CMMG ! or PSA

I might have a Triangular Hand Guard end Cap , if you need it , I will have to look . The early Delta rings are a little different then the newer ones , more round then sloped . & no I don't have one . Yes I do .

Photo of a Brand new AR 15/16 Rifle Buffer , 5 7/8", all one piece , except at the Disassembly pin for the Bummer at the end . Looks like they are the same size if placed correctly on the Measurement . AR 15/16 rifle length spring --12 1/2 " , 44 coils It does rattle a bit , when shook back & forth .

I think she has heard enough through out the years . A lot of stuff I did in the service is not repeatable to her, even though she is in her thirties , I don't even tell the wife the poop I did or was into . I just don't talk about it , to anyone . I would have never purchased these hats myself , but now my family has got these , I'm forced to get the last one .

I got a couple of Ships hats for Christmas , one my daughter ordered for me is not here yet ( USS Guadalcanal LPH 7 , last ship I served on ) The USS Macdonough DLG 8 was a gift from my Brother who is no longer with us. I guess I'l have to order the first ship I was stationed on , the USS TideWater AD 31 , to make my set complete. For you history buff's , at the time I was on her ,The USS Strong DD 758 was the last ship still commissioned in the US Navy to see combat in WW II .

At least the big fish will be replaced almost immediately & then they can start weeding out the little fish as time goes on .
-
So , they are Cryogenically treating this material ?
-
Were you trying to pick up babe's with it ?
-
You would think they would put something out he actually used , to represent him. Nice Rifle though .
-
Probably some kind of land grab , they want to survey to block his use of the land & evict him or some sort of BS . I'm glad most of these Tree huggers will be gone from our government shortly .
-
Interesting , I read his book & don't think that was anything like what he used , maybe he would have liked one like that or its one of his designs . Whats the story on this design ?

Copied from the post in the General section ; I would use a LMT Lower Receiver . Might not be easy to get or find , but it would be my first choice . I recommend the same manufacturers Upper /Lower Receivers for builds , because there is no Standards , MilSpec or otherwise for the 308AR . Interchanging or using different manufacture's Receivers , can cause issues with Tolerance Stacking between the two Receivers . Just look around the Build section for some of these issues , some may be small & some not so small , all can be worked out to some extent .

Are you including the Bumper on the end , because it sure looks longer then that , next to that ruler . that Bumper at the end or cushion , should be included in the over all measurement .
-
What ,Don't all your pimples look that way , I thought that was normal .
-
You mean those $4K bikes ? They are nice . Too rich for my blood .
-
Makes you wonder if that weight ( what ever its made of ) was banging around in there , like a Jack Hammer & the end being threaded , didn't stand a chance .
-
Looks like closer to a Rifle AR 15/16 then an 308 Buffer . WHF , Never saw a Threaded Buffer before . Buy from named Retailers like Brownells & you would have the correct Buffer & if there was an issue, a new replacement .Free ! Inspect the End of your Receiver Extension for any damage that could of occurred , hopefully the bumper at that end absorbed any impact . Count the Coils on the srping & measure it also .
