  1. Well , I'd rather fight , then switch ! <laughs> I will carrie anything I feel will protect my life & I do carrie some Factory ammo , but mix it up with Hard Ball hand loads or vice versa & it has nothing to do with the probability of evidence , one way or the other . <dontknow>
  2. High pressure is probably whats really going on . A smaller firing pin dia. may help , because it would contain the primer indentation more to the center of the Primers Anvil , but that still would not eliminate it completely , its still high chamber pressure that is probably the cause , no matter what the size of the Firing Pin. Primers coming out of the pocket of a good case is a high chamber pressure sign also. I would go a much different route to eliminate the problem .
  3. Using Match/Target bullets ? Doubt it would cause a stir. Besides , if you find a hand load that will work out , it can be duplicated by a Manufacturer . There is nothing in a match or Target ammo that could get you into trouble with a law suite . That went out when LE stopped using FMJ for duty use in their handguns I have no problem carrying hand loads in my carrie pistols . They are tame , compared to what the Critical Defense ammo types are loaded to ,out there . That could be part of the problem . I would hope its some kind of Match ammo . .
  4. I know you didn't mean the words " Battle Rifle " , because why would any PD in the USA need a Battle rifle , since they are policing Citizens , but I see your point that they can be used for general purpose rifle . Someone could have talked them into these rifles & since it didn't turn out they way they intended , they don't want to hear about the screw up. You can tell they didn't talk to other SRT's , because they wouldn't have recommended that particular system for the intended purpose of a Sniper rifle. Someone may be butt hurt & doesn't want to hear about it . I also find it strange that thats the best that rifle/Barrel combo can do. I have hand loaded for rifles that the Manufacturer said the same about group size for a normal factory rifle & through my testing I can cut in half the factory published normal group size .
  5. What was wrong with their existing rifles that they couldn't wait for the LaRue's ? The way I look at it , just more waste of tax payer $$ , because of incompetent purchasing. I know that doesn't help , but not being an LEO , thats tax payer $$ , that could have been used for something else , that's truly needed for the Dept.. Now they plan on purchasing more rifles , hope they did better then the first brain trust . <dontknow> :soap:
  6. Interesting .
  7. And this stops the primer blow outs ?
  8. I can say this , he was a good Governor , like him or not . He did good for this State & anything is better then another Commie lib tard . Kinda early to put him on the ticket yet any way.
  9. Adj. Gas Block ?
  10. What's the aprox. round count of the rifles ?
  11. Small firing Pin Bolts ? Whats the difference , except the obvious . Photo's of the differences ?
  12. Have you tried a Tubb's spring ?
  13. The only way that can happen is ,it had to loosen up some where . I too, do not like the O-Ring locking ring of the Lee Dies , I also replace them , but I use Dillon locking nuts , mostly because I use them in my 550B also ., besides my Lee 1000 & single stage press.
  14. There you go , a good deal !
  15. Well if it Head Spaced OK , it must have not took that much pressure to lock the Bolt into Battery . <dontknow> I would look at your Dummy test rounds .
  16. Got them today Shepp , thanks. Might have to order more .
  17. Hay, Baffles ,that's just the new type Batteries I'm testing in my Mag light . <lmao>
  18. I got a call from a friend up North about another subject & since we hadn't talked in a couple in a while , we talked about what was going on up there with the people we knew & worked with & the subject of one of the guys I used to shoot & hunt with . I was told that this guy had bought a Solvent trap from Ebay & got a visit from the BATFE & they confiscated it . They came there to look for it in particular , no charges , nothing but they wanted that trap that was bought off Ebay. I have no other info & probably won't until I get up there for Hunting season . Kinda strange they just came for the confiscating of the item & not have anything to charge him or some directive . We all know what some people are doing with these things , but if it wasn't made into something , how can they take anything or if it was made into something , why no charges ?
  19. After reading up on some of this stuff , I may just keep my Alice web gear the way it is & wear it over the Body Armor . I think I will pick up at least a double , single mag pouch for the Carrier , at chest level . BDS Tactical gear has a Double , single mag pouch I like . I'll check out the TT sale though .
  20. I have a bunch of them , I think , mine are canvas or heavy web , I'm not sure . I will take a photo of my alice gear .
  21. I went to UTG sight & in their spec's it reads its a MilSpec Extension . I have used this one on the last couple of builds , very well made . .http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/buffer-tube-parts/buffer-tubes/ar-15-m16-mil-spec-buffer-tube-prod27154.aspx
  22. Use a Pin Spanner wrench or Spanner wrench . I'll get a photo when I find a good one . There are different types & sizes . I had to slightly alter the pins on the one I set up, on the Fulton Armory Hand Guard I have.
  23. I was going ask a question & went to their sight & found the answer.
