Nice job . The ALG FCG's I have or installed , seem to settle abs about 5.5# & they are nice .

If you are showing how little threads are into your Mag Release Button , the AR 10 Armalite Mag Catch with its long shaft & threaded area , gives you more adj. & more threads in the Button , as shown in the Thread that was posted . That Mag Button looks a little low in the Receiver , but the amount of threads into the Button look Normal for a DPMS 308 or a AR 15 Mag Catch used in a 308AR .

Nice !

In was asking about the mechanical latching mechanism , not the product . But yes , I have had my eye on them for a long time
-
Here is the Difference between a LR DPMS & an AR 10 Mag Catch , the Pad is larger & Threaded stem is longer.
-
Yes , you want the " A " model Catch , I believe , there are some posts on it here some where , I know we just talked about it in another thread . Check this thread below .

What Gen. are the PMags ? first Gen. or Gen 3 ? I have a whole thread on a early CMMG Lower , that would not work with the first Gen. Mags , but would with any Metal mag. or Lancer L7 . It doesn't take much for the Bolt over FTF if the Mag is not sitting high enough in the Mag Well , only a few thousands or an inch low & it can cause intermittent FTF . Believe it or not , we have mentioned it here before , the Armalite AR 10 Mag Catch , might help with the PMags . The Gen 3 LR Mags are different & set the Cartridges a hair or two higher , I have to find the thread or I can look at my notes , to shout the dimensional differences in the two mags & all the others .

It had to be somewhat tight to begin with , so getting it lined up & use Rock set, as has been mentioned , it should be fine . Getting it lined up correctly will be the key , proper Head Space , would be another . AR Barrel specialists , like ADCO , will have a Jig to make sure the Gas Port is drilled correctly to align with the Feed Ramps & the Barrels extension alignment Pin . Also they could turn the Barrel down , re-thread it , ream the Chamber , if needed ,to align every thing . not to mention doing all this to have the proper torque for the Extension to Barrel .

Guess I'll have to try some out , since you'all have tested them already .

Welcome to the family

Ya , I looked at the first link you posted & was not impressed , but the second one is interesting . Especially the 1911 stuff -
Wasn't sure where to put this , but this new law is they way it should be . http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/local/florida/florida-law-shifts-burden-of-proof-in-stand-your-ground/447600773

I had to change two items of data on my charge & Powder on the Chrono data . # 9 with the 87 gr. SP ,was 26 gr. of H335 , not 25.6 gr. # 10 with the 87 gr. SP ,was H 335 not X terminator Powder . My bad , the chart I had in the Ammo container was hard to read & when going over my notes & log , I corrected it in the Post Shouldn't effect you 98 , your not using 87gr. Hot cores. I have a long list of new loads to test & will post them next week when I test them . I went to three test rounds instead of five , keep the Barrel cooler & I'm low on 90 gr. Bullets until I get my order in.

I had to cancel my Lee Wilson case Head Space Gage for the 25-45 Sharps from Brownells tonight , been back ordered for a Month . Found one at Graf & Sons, but for two $ more. Shows in stock & they are always correct on in stock items . I also ordered more 90 gr. Sierra's .

Interesting , it looks like all that holds them in is little Ball's . Ya I said that
-
Don't laugh , Hoppe's # 9 , Break free spray cleaner , Brake Cleaner ( yes the stuff for cleaning Automotive Brake parts ) on a Patch . Salt Bath Nitrate should not alter the Chambers dimensions , though residue from the process may , if anything is left in there .
-
Sure, it will hold the Barrel Extension from turning , but the Barrel is independent of it & screwed into the Extension & the Barrel is what he unscrewed , by trying to unscrew the Muzzle Device , seems to happen a lot . Using the word Screwed a lot in this thread Sketch , getting that Gas port to align correctly may be difficult , has to be spot on, as you know . Think about sending it out to to ADCO https://adcofirearms.com

Are these things any good , what I mean is , do all you people that use the , trust them no to come un-attached when you don't want them to , like a fixed Sling attachment . I have never even looked at one in the flesh & certainly never used one . I trust most Permeant ones , because I have tested them . This one happens to be a Magpul
-
Are you sure ? His Barrel turned out of the Barrel Extension , so how would this thing help ?
-
These are the ones I have used for thirty some years , with a little soft leather .about $25 at Brownells. Could the Muzzle device be Rock set in place ?
-
Nuts , if I have a barrel laying around , its already a complete rifle , I have Upper's ( A2 complete ) laying around because they were swapped out for flat tops & Bolts & lower parts , Gips & stuff like that for repairs if needed , but a Barrel , no way would that hang around un-attached , unless something was wrong with it & it couldn't be repaired .
-
Besides , its under full warranty
-
I prefer Chrome Silicone Springs , but have both & can't tell the difference . This could be one of those , what oil is best for you engine debates . Once you try a Lancer , you won't look back .
-
If you say so . Don't forget to try a metal Magazine for the feed issue. The Lancer has metal feed lips with a polymer body ,( or what ever that plastic is )

Tubb's Spring The 308AR version works with both Rifle & Carbine Stocks , the Carbine system is a little more fun to stuff it in there As you can see in the photo below , there is a large difference with the Tubb's . .
