The 1-8 twist description was taken about in a thread quite a while ago & we all said is wasn't right & the poster called Armalite & they said it was misprint , that they were all 1-10 twist . Its seems the nomenclature is being made worse by manufacturers ( Barrels ) changing the normal designation or the actual Gas Port location on Barrels , remember Futon Armory changed their Barrels Gas port to Armalite spec's & say to use an Armalite length Gas Tube now a days . I have two Kreiger Criterion Barrels from them & the Gas tube locations are AR 15 Rile length , so its just not saying what it is now , they are changing DPMS to AR 10 , so the designation is correct , its just not being used on an AR 10 , but a DPMS . Confusing this situation even more , you don't know what component is required till you start to build .

Too thick of Cerakote . Yep , work on what you will never see .

Lancer L7's should have no issues . The OAL M118's may be an issue as described by by MagPul . Looks like you bought the last one they are out of stock .

50 Cal .510 750 gr A-MAX® Details Videos It's a fact: The Hornady® A-MAX® bullet design grew from a relentless application of everything we know about ballistics and flight characteristics. After all, match shooters demand perfection from their bullets every time they step on the range. The aerodynamic secant ogive profile, the sharp pointed tip and the unequaled concentricity of the A-MAX® design give it an extremely high ballistic coefficient for near perfection in flight. The A-MAX® bullet is the ultimate result of more than half a century of studying bullet performance. Ever aspect of accuracy has been designed into the A-MAX® bullet. From its polymer tip to the angle of the boattail, the A-MAX® bullet is engineered for extreme accuracy. Features: Ultra Low Drag Tip The low-drag and uniform point raises the ballistic coefficient and precisely balances the center of pressure relative to the center of gravity in order to achieve optimal in-flight stability. Secant Ogive Profile The geometric profile works to produce low drag and flatter trajectories. The secant ogive design also provides the optimum bearing surface for stability in flight and the best ballistic coefficient possible. Swaged Lead Core The swaging process provides excellent uniformity and balance for consistent performance and accuracy. AMP® Jacket The jacket has virtually zero tolerance for concentricity and near zero wall thickness variation. Boattail The angle and length of the boattail is unique to each caliber and weight of Match™ and A-MAX® bullets to maximize ballistic coefficient and accuracy. You know its there , but as far as being cut or pressed , hard for me to say , but nicely done . I'm going to take her out to the range next week , to see how they feel .
-
Range report ?

Normally I would say I like them tight & I'm talking about slide on HG fitment , but there could be an issue . I'm going to assume the Barrel Nut came with the Aero HG kit & some light grease may help , so may slight tapping the HG with a soft Mallet . Is the HG & Nut Cerakoted ?

If I didn't have wood grips on my 29 I would think of getting a set of these like the new set on the 19 to put on it .
-
I suppose a set of Bushings made would work . Wish I could find that Thread here on this , someone mated a set like this & it worked , but had issues & changed to a different lower or something like that . It was a long time ago . Found it , it doesn't have much info & one of the links is dead , I thought it had more info .

I have an AR 15 with a A2 Front sight & can't see the sight through the scope at all . Rings are Xtra high Burris extreme Tactical , I have to have them that height for proper sighting, but their height doesn't matter , you should not see the tower through the scope any way . If your concerned about it , its why they have the fold down types , I don't have any BUIS on my Scoped AR's . The rifle below had an A2 Upper Receiver on it for over thirty years , I wanted a scope to see how good the Barrel would shoot , will probably go back to the Original Upper at some point .Shoots real good with the A2 set up . I'm just getting to old .
-
Wonder if Pin length may also be an issue with them .
-
Is there a rail on the Hand Guard ? Most of us just mount the front BUIS on the Rail & they co witness with the rear Sight , in most conditions. Pretty much thats how they are designed . There are Front sights that are made for the railed Gas Blocks because of the height differences in most of them & the Upper Receivers Rail . Yankee hill makes one http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/front-sights/gas-block-front-flip-sight-prod21358.aspx There are also plenty of Gas Blocks with flip up sights on them & you can also install a A2 type Tower sight that clamps on also .Check Brownells http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/front-sights/gas-block-front-flip-sight-prod21358.aspx

We have seen this before , just adds to the possibility of potential Tolerance Stacking . Keep us informed , these miss match combo's are always interesting . if you look hard enough back a few years , you will find a Thread on this subject .

Man , that took some time to make up .
-
I personally don't use them , but others do , for various reasons ,for instance, if I had a Carbine gas system , I might use one . Give the rifle a chance to get a higher round count then decide . Not sure if Superlative is made for 308's , I think one here had issues with one used ins 308AR , there are other brands , just about all the big names have one in their line . I have a Superlative Piston system on on of my AR 15's & its a great product .

What will be needed for Holsters with lights attached ? Do they make them for all of your choices ?

Using Remington Bench Rest Primers for some of these same loads & testing close to if not max charge weights in some . Will add the X-Terminator test loads when I'm done with them . Some will also be full charges . 90 gr. SGK -- H 335 - 26.3 gr. , Rem. BR Primer 90 gr. SGK - H 335 - 27.0 gr. , Rem. BR Primer ( this is a full charge in the LC Case ) note; will also test these with a std CCI Primer. 87 gr. Speer HC -H 335- 27.9 gr. , Rem BR Primer ( this is close to , if not a full charge in the LC Case ) Note ; will also test with std , CCI Primer . 90 gr. SGK -- X-Terminator -25.8 gr. - Rem. That would be my guess also , no problem finding out once its in someones hands .
-
Clearing their extra parts , if I had extra $$ to blow right now , I wouldn't mind picking one up & build it .
-
Ya , but thats really stretching it . Had to have a lot of things go right & a little luck , not taking anything from the shot or the personal making it , but man that was one in a million shot !
-
Geez O man , thats some shooting . What Caliber , .50 ?
-
I really like the Darker wood , was surprised to see them that dark ,more of a Walnut , instead of Cherry . Perfect fit , came with two Pins , one for the bottom & one near the Trigger guard . Don't remember having any like that in any other S&W , but my old brain may not remember . Absolutely beautiful though .

Thanks , now I can shop with out any restrictions .

Another question , does it make a difference if the release button is flush or not , If not flush , have any of you have any accidental releases ?
