  3. Hi Road great build...did one just like yours heres what ya do....shoot the sass...when rainier gets the barrels in.. buy one.. take off the sass and sell it like I did...you wont lose twenty bucks on the swap btw the sass is sub moa...I just couldnt handle the weight....but im a wooss <laughs> Wash

  6. I really do use bear spray at my business on vagrants...i give them a three strike you're out...first two strikes I show em the big ol canister of bear spray...on the third strike...they get hosed down...geeez i hate to use it..it always gets in my eyes too....no matter which way the wind is blowing....i always have to get get a gal of milk and wash me down <laughs> last year I dropped three of em with one spray...called police...by that time they were across the street washing themselves off with a garden hose...guy that owned the house drew down on em before the police got there <lmao> police wouldnt take em cause of the pepper spray....he called the patty wagon....im watchin all this from my business across the street <laughs> the bums and the homeowner trying to get across that it happened over there at my place...Nah <laughs> Wash
  7. Pepper Spray! <lmao> <laughs> Wash
  8. Hi Eric Ive got two carbine mega builds that im using the dpms style barrel/bcg...if you are doing that....then just a mil spec tube,308 carbine spring and 308 buffer...nothing fancy...no flat wire spring or h2 h3 buffer...i tried those combos and they prevented lockback.....but if you are going the armalite route with barrel/bcg someone else will have to chime in thats using the armalite barrel/bcg. Wash
  9. Jgun what was i thinking? you dont need to be try fitted for a rifle...all wenig would need would be length of pull...maybe you would want a palm swell?...cause a rifle isnt as critical as a sporting shotgun....go for it....ill tell you what you need if you wanna finish it out yourself Wash
  10. Jgun I got rid of the dpms sass and then got two rainier select polygonals for my 308's. using federal matchking .both barrels are tack drivers at short range 100/200 yds and no probs hitting 6" steel disks at 500 yds...durable ? i dunno cause they only have bout 200 rounds or so down the tube. I will tell you this the poly's dont foul hardly at all..looking at the bore...i dont see how this polygonal stuff works, but it does! <thumbsup> Wash
  11. AMEN Brother Unforgiven This Gal is a true keeper! We have soo much fun together! <thumbsup> Wash
  12. Hi Guys Jgun here is my backup 302. They dont make a chrome/silver reciever, but i nicked it one day on the lower and saw a shiney metal...so took it apart and this was very scary <laughs> I found a good spot on the concrete in my garage and just started rubbing th lower until all the black blueing started coming off...then got a sanding block with i dunno maybe # 200 grit working up to jewlers rouge. so heres black walnut, but this is not even what he calls fancy wood fairly cheap Wash
  13. Jgun and Unforgiven ...Ill never learn :) Just got engaged to #3....proposed at a gun show last week <lmao>...at least she likes to shoot and go to gun shows ....hmmmmm <laughs> she is wonderful! Jgun...I would betcha Wenig will do it in tiger stripe maple....the funny thing bout maple...he hands you some blanks to look at and they are white with no stripes no nuthin...you wet em with a rag and the colors pop out.....maple is very hard and fun to work with....on the shotguns i was try fitted at the World Cup back in the 90's when it was in Branson Mo, but on a rifle I think he could get measurements off one of your stocks and you wouldnt have to see him...but one thing for sure,,,he's got the wood! you may wanna check out birds eye maple ...its pretty too! <thumbsup> Wash
  14. Hey Greywolf Welcome aboard! Wash
  15. Jgun Heres the wenig stock of the 302 Wash
  16. Hi Survival Ive got two melonite barrels from here in 6.8 spc www.ar15performance.com when Harrison offers up the light 308 barrel ill be getting one <thumbsup> Wash
  17. Thanks Jgun! Tiger stripe maple....ive got another on a beretta 302....pics really dont do justice...took me 6 months on each one to finish from a rough cut.... I would apply the oil with the palm of my hand.. then it would take one or two days for it to soak in and dry then I would sand it back and apply again...on and on until it just wouldnt take anymore...there is really no built up layer..its all in the wood....but I was able to go to tournaments and use it and the 302 during the process....hmmmm maybe between loading a thousand rounds of 12 gauge shells a week and working on the stocks is why the wife left? <lmao> Wash
  18. Hi Guys go to the video link from this link http://68forums.com/forums/showthread.php?13059-difference-between-match-barrel-and-not also...ive got two of H's melonite 6.8 barrels they are freakin tack drivers...but ive only got bout 300 rds doen the pipes Wash

  22. So Robo....when your setting the table... does the "spork" go on the left or right of the plate? im cornfused <lmao> Wash
  23. Hiya Hen you know thats a great question! I read where some folks who are getting a barrel...buy the bolt from the same mfg...so its headspaced for you. so they say?....so im thinkin the mfg is taking different bolts and fit them to to chamber...and by "fit" i mean grabbing a bolt out of a bunch of bolts and finding one that headspaces....I guess a true barrel maker would use a chamber ream/adjust barrel extension to achieve this but im thinkin all the others just "try fit" so diy ...hmmmm what would we do? ive built over 30 ar's for me and friends over the years and never had a headspace problemo....but I do check for headspacing . The 308 in the post above scaaared the crap out of me...wasnt the headspace.. it was crap ammo....didnt have a headspace gauge for a 308/762. I do now! <munch> Wash
  24. Soofley " do you guys think it'll work? My table's made out of real wood probably half an inch thick(or a lil bit more)," BUT the light vise aint a half an inch thick! <lmao> i can just " see you crankin down on the barrel nut and the vise snapping off and you holding a barrel, wrench and vise in your hands <laughs> Nah.. go ahead itll work! Wash
