  1. Yeah. So it's easier to hear the fly's blood curdling screams. :-)
  2. What it does need is grip tape on the cocking piece. The plastic pump is slippery and it requires a fair amount of pressure to cycle. Luckily I had some scraps laying around.
  3. +1 on 392heminut's post. I own a bunch of CCW holsters for many different handguns and none have a retention strap. A couple do have trigger guard retention devices but using those without I have never lost a firearm from the holster in 28 years.
  4. I ordered a Ranier Arms Raptor charging handle for this new SIG and it arrived yesterday. Easy decision to make since installing one on my S&W. I love the way it works.
  5. I installed a Timney drop in 3.5# trigger into my S&W.That's one nice crisp, clean trigger. Major improvement.
  6. I also wiggled the brace out 1.125" on the tube (it's a friction fit) and man does it shoulder well now. I read it can be pulled out as much as 3". Took two of us to do it.
  7. Just installed the TacCon 3MR trigger. Easy installation. Haven't fired it yet though.
  8. I haven't installed it into anything yet so no idea if I like it. I certainly like the way it looks.
  9. I got sympathetic shoulder pain just watching that.
  10. Arrived on the 6th and here it is. It's FDE (obviously) with Magpul grip, forestock and rear sight with an 11" barrel. I fell immediately in lust! Some of you may recall I ordered a TacCon 3MR trigger the first day they became available. I still hadn't installed it in my S&W and I'm glad because it's going into this compact 6lb SIG. This thing's easy handling and the FSB feels just like a fully collapsed M4 stock.
  11. Welcome from Brooksville, Florida.
  12. Taking into consideration what those big X-frames weigh I think I'd rather carry a 5lb AR pistol with a 20 round mag strapped across my chest.
  13. I like to top my avocado with a 20oz Del Monaco steak, medium.
  14. I own a bunch of S&W handguns and one rifle, a M&P-15 Tactical. I can't even remember how many S&W handguns I've owned in the past. They've all been pretty good firearms.
  15. I just buy them all. It's a sickness. :-)
  16. May or may not be reliable. Pretty cheap to find out. If you're not jerking the shots the pistol will tell you if the spring is correct. If after the shot the muzzle is tipped upward the spring is too light. If after the shot the muzzle is tipped downward the spring is too heavy. You want the sights back on target after the shot. Jerking the shot or limp wristing will skew these results.
  17. Gnarshooter said. but I don't see how a stiffer spring would reduce recoil. The stiffer spring stores more energy and then releases it as foward movement of the slide. This is energy the shooter doesn't have to absorb. The stiffer spring requires a hotter load to cycle reliably and the increased forward velocity of the slide accelerates wear slightly.
  18. Welcome from Florida.
  19. Hope Char feels better soon and sorry for your loss of a favored treat.
  20. I fired a Weatherby .460 Mag once. Didn't clinch my teeth. It was like being hit with an uppercut.
  21. The shooter will probably abandon it to keep from confirming they're that stupid.
  22. Ordered a Ranier Arms Raptor charging handle for the new SIG.
