  1. Problem is that barrel was drilled for that fsb and those taper pins. Likelihood of it lining back up on a different barrel is slim. If you are dead set on reusing a fsb on a new barrel, you usually have to have it drilled. Aftermarket barrels usually won't even have the taper holes drilled unless they are "take off" barrels someone is clearing out. The expense of sending them off usually negates any money saved on reusing the FSB.
  2. Hey token...no set screws, but DPMS locktights those bad boys on. You should be able to see a small seam on the receiver side of the tube, probably an inch or two away from the end. The long piece is the threaded freefloat tube and the short piece is the actual barrel nut. You just need to unscrew the tube from the barrel nut which will give you access to it. The holes arranged around the barrel nut are for the gas tube at the top, and the studs on the armorers to remove it from the upper. Usual practice is to heat the tube at that area to loosen the lock tight and then use a quality strap wrench to break it loose. Or the short version...they glue that Damn thing on, so get a bigger hammer and get busy. Obviously the front sight needs to be removed first. Those taper pins can be unreasonable, so if they aren't coming out...hit them harder.
  3. Thanks SS. JT dropped one in the mail to me already. You guys rock.
  4. Darnit. I work one sat. A month and that's it. I need some range time.
  5. My thoughts as well. Looks like a big pig-ish sight that doesn't really do anything special other than being durable. I usually volunteered for the SAW, but I got out before they got fancy optics added on.
  6. looks like it's still listed. I'd be your middle man if you were interested. Elcan
  7. Local guy was selling a machine gun elcan, forget the model. Looked neat but he wanted $600 for it.
  8. Damn man. I really want to do one. I'm already committed to work this weekend.
  9. <3 u guyz.
  10. Crap..,meant extractor spring. Just noticed I messed that up
  11. Got me too. Need to fix that pewp ASAP.
  12. Since I Havnt been able to make a post since yesterday afternoon...thanks guys. Jt..that might work if I Havnt found one by then. Don't need it right away. Still need to strip it down all the way when I order the barrel. Big Mike, thanks for looking.
  13. I need a 308 ejector spring. Most places charge more for shipping than the part costs so thought I'd ask if anyone has a few spare and wants to throw one in an envelope for a couple bucks. Don't really need a whole rebuild kit like DW sells. Grassy ass.
  14. Damn that looks good
  15. Save complicated unnecessary "upgrades" for after you get the gun running. Many lopro gas blocks are designed to sit right up against the shoulder. Not many people use a handguard cap with them.
  16. I wish I could have grabbed a few. I'm scraping and scrounging just to get my matrix build off the ground.
  17. I can't either. I can reply anywhere else, just not in the political threads. THANKS OBAMA
  18. I didn't know that wash, nice. They had some lowers marked 338 and judging by how they all went on super cheap clearance I'd guess they decided to just stamp them multi cal from now on.
  19. In the 308 world, building seldom equates to saving. Its usually more expensive. The up side is that you get exactly what you want and don't nickel and dime yourself with upgrades.
  20. Gotta admit, I never even heard about it until this thread. Looks like a nice gun, but nothing you couldn't piece together. Why oh why does DPMS use that railed gas block that is shorter than the upper?
  21. Just to be clear...this is a DPMS brand lower?
  22. I assume the no brand part refers to platform brand...AR10, LAR8, LR308..
  23. Maybe it's petty, but trijicon bailing out on the post 9/11 vets discount they offered left a bad taste in my mouth.
  24. Hawt. Well done. That scope looks tiny!
  25. Damn Canadians
