  1. My online firearm footprint is relatively small. This is my home. There is a really bad local forum that I primarily just troll, and barfcom where I never leave the classifieds. I scan the outdoor/firearm sales pages on FB and have friended a few manufacturers pages but my main FB activity is trolling lib news sites....because it's very entertaining. My wife is part of so many stupid groups on there that I can't even navigate through it, so I usually go straight to vice news and offend hippies.
  2. You can't appreciate the belly and tail gunner bubbles on those bombers until you see them in person. Screw that noise.
  3. Nope..I know better than to look at those lol
  4. Good eye guru...but he's got it covered. http://www.strikeindustries.com/shop/index.php/ar-ultimate-dust-cover.html
  5. Edit...guess I should have looked at vid before posting lol
  6. I just brought to down to standard "pencil" specs behind the gas block. Only 2" of barrel in front so I didn't mess with it.
  7. Gap behind the nut looks a little bigger than Normal, but I think you are the only one that will really notice it(because it's yours and we are our own biggest critics) It still looks fine. Long as the nut is torqued and the tube is secure you should be good to go. Looks like the collar was designed wide with some adjustment room to accommodate slight differences in uppers.
  8. Lol. My 18" gun is named miss piggy. I like em curvey too, but why not have one of each :D
  9. Plenty of scoped factory 308ARs do. My old bull barrel DPMS was heavier than that. Most people don't carry enough ammo around to make much of a difference. There's nothing wrong with wanting a lighter rifle that performs as well as a heavy one. Seems common sense unless you never leave the bench. You seem to think lightening a rifle makes it less effective when this is not necessarily the case. If you are out hunting with ammo pouches weighing more than your rifle, you may need a little more practice.
  10. You say it's not torqued..but is it hand tight? If so it's not going to move much more when you torque it down.
  11. So everyone should have pig 12lb 308s? This guy shoots just fine, and is much nicer to carry than the HB it started as.
  12. One of my ex roommates did the same thing...because against everyone's advice he spent way too much on a high mileage avalanche with the huge engine and huge lift kit when he didn't have a job. To everyone's utter amazement, it was a POS and promptly broke. He got $5 lol. He had the balls to complain on Facebook that he was disappointed in his friends.
  13. Honestly can't loose either way. Personal preference. The GGG will be a little cheaper. They were just having a sale but not sure if its done. Seen them on Amazon for good prices. I support local AZ guys so they get my money.
  14. Gorgeous rifle. Well done. I've never see such a small channel on a BCG. Could certainly be an issue there
  15. If you Havnt seen it, criterion posted pics of the prototype 16" rifle gas barrel in their forum here. Profile looks awesome. It will be my next barrel for sure.
  16. That place is cool. Need to get the kids out there
  17. got to sit inside a MIL MI-24 (HIND) attack chopper. They have one at NTC they bring out for parades and change of command for big brass. We gave the pilots rides in our BMP but the favor was not reciprocated.
  18. Buddy just got one. PSA had a deal on them. Feels great in hand. Trigger is pretty nice. He ran 200 various factory rounds through it straight out of the box without a hiccup.
  19. The gas block will only work in one spot. Doesn't matter how long or short the tube is. You need to install the barrel with the gas block on it, and use that as your template to trim the tube. Some gas blocks may sit a little deeper than others, and the barrel nut won't be in the same spot with the barrel in place vs just threaded onto the upper.
  20. The bar tender at the place didn't know much about them, but said they were about $250 each. Place was in a rough part of town, and I actually saw shady looking people turn and walk off the property when it started tracking them. Must be some psychological aspect to an active system like that.
  21. Cool. The air and space museum had a SR71 on display a few years ago and two pilots hanging out to chat. Got to poke around it a little. Such an amazing machine.
  22. I'm just being salty. I like my BCMs
  23. They are newer designs. Everybody likes new stuff! Have you seen the new goofy rainier ones that allow you to swap handles? It's like chicks and shoes. I'm going back to all milspec/standard charging handles just to be original. People at the range will be lining up to check out my sweet tactical low profile custom handles and asking "why didn't someone think of this sooner"
  24. I worked at a place that had some really cool ones. They were motion lights with a camera in the center that followed you. Had about a 90° swing. don't know the brand but they were impressive. Nothing says I SEE YOU like a flood light tracking you up to the front door
  25. I'd probably try to clean it up. Maybe let them know first. Doesn't look too bad.
