    Humming birds

id never seen a baby until last week. my daughter and I were taking a walk and she likes to stop at every house to look at flowers. one house had what I thought were fat moths, or bee sized flying bugs. I got a little closer and realized they were tiny little humming birds. she was so excited. they were flying right up to her shirt.
  2. THAT is a good idea! along those lines, since Mr millionaire Bloomberg is so set on spending money to curb gun violence, maybe he ought to subsidize gun safes instead of making TV commercials!
  3. ship notice. should be here Friday with my 77gr OTM. too bad I'm working all weekend.
  4. I don't think step-uncle Sam has any intention of making NFA items any easier to obtain! would be nice though.
  5. at the risk of sounding argumentative (not trying to be, just curious) do you agree with gun free zones or mandatory training/licensing for firearm carrying?
  6. nice! I need that FDE brace.
  7. holy crap that's awesome.
  8. so there were actually 2 lessons in this post! lol
  9. saw the first part of that a little while ago. it should be a blaring alarm, but it's not. just preaching to the choir. sad days ahead.
  10. simmer down tiger, I wasn't trying to imply you were. your statement did sound like it came right from an anti gun slogan though. nobody is saying that teachers should be a first line of defense, but if there is a teacher or two who can handle a weapon, and they are willing to take on the responsibility and ensure they are trained up, id rather them be a last line of defense with legal blessing than a victim. there are still teachers out there who havnt figured out they are suppose to be sheep. nobody wants to "let it get to that point" but it may just well happen wether we want it to or not, and one more layer protecting my children is ok with me.
  11. gotcha. I understand they have trained guards, paid and volunteers. I just meant average Joe citizen in Israel is neutered.
  12. for sure...and as an example I love aguila 556, while the 762 I tried sucks donkeys. just throwing it out there to show they are capable of producing usable ammo. I'm not out anything if it sucks, but ill buy a bunch if it goes bang since it's cheaper than crusty 40yr old milsurp.
  13. buddy says the 556 stuff was about the same as his federal 55gr, and more accurate than his green tip.
  14. cmon tom...a LAW is a bad idea for civies. that stupid trigger pad sucks. lets go the extra mile and get them some AT5s. only slightly more complicated to operate, but so much nicer to fire.
  15. survival...your comment is getting dangerously close to "why let people defend themselves with guns...we need more police"
  16. ^if I'm not mistaken, Israeli parents are disarmed. very restrictive gun laws. all those pics of "civilians" with M16s are just off duty IDF or hired security, and most of those pics show the rifles unloaded using those mag block things.
  17. GET TO THE CHOPPAH!!! hoon-glas pendejos!
  18. id take it! happy ending.
  19. buddy of mine left this in my mail box at work. says made in turkey. fine print says lot tested, NATO specs, sub MOA@100. no weight info. doesn't specify corrosive or not. brass looks good. green sealant on primers. he said it was about $11/20. I'm skeptical to say the least on accuracy claims but at this price it could be a good plinking option. ill try to shoot some next weekend.
  20. I'm not a 1911 guy, and like my tupperware, and I would have made that trade in a second. nice job.
  21. finally got my VTAC adjusted pretty well and like it, but it was a pain to get it right. I still don't like the tail, and I run out of room and require a double pull to really cinch it tight. (the tail bottoms out, and I need to let go and regrip it near the buckle to get the last inch out of it) I think I might be too skinny for this sling without any gear on. think I'm going to try one of those WAY OF THE GUN slings next. looks simple, but appears to have tons of adjustment.
  22. alot of teachers keep up that training anyway...and are more than willing to take the responsibility. why not use them? I have several friends at my weekend job who are educators. one is a UA professor who teaches guard and CCW classes on the side. one is a combat vet who teaches 6th grade. those two in particular already break certain rules that could get them fired in the name of safety. why not make them legit? im willing to bet there are people of similar mindset everywhere.
  23. SALE PENDING......went with a regular A1 stock instead. almost new. mounted on gun but never taken out. just the stock, screw and cheek pad. does not come with extension or buffer parts. looking for $65 shipped. might take partial trades of a decent 2pt sling.
  24. that blows man. id probably rather pain meds than surgery though. I never trust that knife.
  25. my buddy and his dad like tactical toys, but when it comes to hunting they are all fudd guns and shooting sticks. if I remember right they just use shooters ridge sticks from cabellas. nothing fancy. no issues with them. also...your little "problem" sounds like alot of fun. as robo says, good time to practice some calling skills in a target rich environment.
