Great at the range but I wouldnt put it in a defensive gun. Very touchy. As JT pointed out it wouldnt ignite my cruddy milsurp 308 ammo so i put it in my 556 precision gun and its perfect in there.

Im assuming somehow an angle on the wrench during tightening was just enough to let it scrape over the QD socket..or the little bit of slack allowed it over...but when it snugged up against the end plate it straightened it out and lost that slack and locked itself up? maybe it was already half way over the nub when it reached that point of interference so he was able to drag it the rest of the way over, but now that its over and tight, the flat edges are catching each other so it cant slide past? really dont know. I agree with you that if it went on it should be able to come off the same way, but its not here in front of me to work on.

Lol we're working together next weekend so I told him ill look at it then if he cant get it sorted. I told him to start deciding which part will be easier for him to replace when I cut it off. Im still amazed this is possible.

So a coworker asked if he could borrow my armorers wrench to snug down a castle nut. We had a qual today so just told him to get it back to me whenever. He texts me a few hours later and asks me how you get the wrench off once its tight....I tell him he better send a pic. THE PERFECT STORM. he has the castle nut backwards. When he got it tight the wrench is stuck against the end plate that has a QD socket. The outer socket nub wont allow the wrench to pass to loosen the castle nut enough to wiggle the wrench out. The QD inner nub is locked into the relief on the lower and wont let the extension turn. I dont know how he got it on there in the first place but its in tight.

So im gonna need at least 3x MOAR LEETHAAALLLITTTYYYYYYY just to be safe? I hope they aren't exaggerating about that 30%10X.

I was actually thinking about a way to avoid the Velcro straps and attach something like this permanently to the stock...thanks for the idea!

Updated the holster pics at the end of page 1 to some nicer ones. Another 400 flawless rounds today. Mostly S&B 115 gr junk I plink with and some 124 HST that I carry to confirm any change in POI. Used P99, PPQ, SW99, and MR9 mags. Not a single stutter. I really like this gun. The RMS sight is still dead on. Shield is releasing their custom Q5 optic plate at SHOT that is lower than the factory walther plate and will allow a better cowitness. Waiting on a price to see if its worth buying. They are officially announcing a RMSc optic that has the same footprint but is narrower than the standard RMS for mounting on subcompacts and 1911s. rumor mill says they are also announcing a RMSw model that is waterproof and hardened for duty use. I think Shield is about to be a player. I also put new mepros on the workhorse P99 and ran 150 through her to zero. Boringly reliable as usual. Still my baby.
