That looks naughty. I dont need a riser, but the cheek weld on A1/A2 stocks kinda sucks. That looks like it might help.
-
Definitely the coolest looking riser out! Wonder if it would fit a A2 stock.

Thanks man! Numeric has 14.5 bushmaster barrels pinned with FSBs for cheap. Think ill snag one for the carbine. Just working on uppers for now.

I had planned on being done with AR builds for a while, but a harmless comment on Siscos thread resulted in him giving me a smoking deal on a pair of old school uppers...so here we go. Probably going to be a slow process. Plan at the moment is a 14.5 somalia-ish carbine with the C7 upper, and a M16A2 clone of my shithole rifle with the A2 upper.
-
Id guess a bit of both. I dont expect that area would take too kindly to 300 militant black people showing up overnight and buying half the town.
-
My old partner at work use to tell me about that. We would pass by the place a few times a week. Looks super creepy. I always wanted to go poke around in there.

Like a one-stop awesome shop. Your above reasons are exactly why i dont have hard armor. cant wait to see what you are working on.

And AIDS is alot less deadly than it use to be....but it still sucks.

Been pretty happy with fenix lights so far, and my one call to their customer service was great. They swapped out an old model with a new model no questions asked when it developed some button issues. Im sold on rechargables and dont plan on buying handhelds that dont use them anymore. I use to try and conserve my lights because 123s and high lumen gets expensive. Its nice to not care and just swap out soon as it starts to dim. I keep an older streamlight (TL2 i think) in my work vest. It is a simple on-of button and also has the "safe-run" bezel so it wont accidently click on. Very handy feature for a utility light. I like a high lumen handheld and a med lumen weapon light. I have a 160 and 300 lum TLR-1 on my main pistols and HD carbine. Have zero interest in the 800. Sometimes the 300 seems like overkill. I imagine the big lumen lights would be better on a patrol/outdoor carbine but that just isnt a role I need filled. I hate strobe for anything but signalling and getting attention...but even in that situation a solid beam or a few pulses gets attention just as well. Also 900 lumen solid beam in the face is much more disorienting than a strobe....the strobe makes them blink and get annoyed. Head shot makes them put their head down, and they are momentarily blinded even after its off. that is my experience working in crowded dark noisy environments weekend after weekend. far as im concerned strobe is just a distraction and id rather not have the feature. Im with jacob and agree with simple on-off is the way to go for defensive lights. Work lights are nice to have a high and low setting.

They only list holsters for the M2 (button mag release) frames. I called to ask if it would work with my paddle mag release and he told me he would tweak it a little. He even flared and clearanced the area around the trigger guard so you could drop the mag with the gun holstered, but its still covered enough so theres no chance of it happening accidentally. Nice little touch. I did notice a small spot on the front of the slide that is rubbing after 2 days of draw/mag/reholster. Not sure if I want to try and loosen it up or just roll with it. Holster wear is sexy.

Never thought id pay this much for a holster...but options are limited for walther folk. Longs Shadow Holsters CrestoneL2. Took a bit to get it all adjusted but it fits perfect. Silky smooth. The thumb break was a little sharp so I took the edges down with sand paper and its all good. Got a mag pouch as well since none of my current closed top ones fit the 17rd. Tossed it on a spare duty belt for now so I can play around and practice with it but so far its awesome. Came with the blade-tech belt slider but he has options for Gcode and safariland as well. I ordered a blade-tech DOH and tek-lok to try out. Also have a TMMS QD adapter on the way. Going to try and set it up so I can leave the slider on my duty belt and just click whatever holster onto it I plan on carrying.

I just have to wonder how that discussion went in the boardroom. "Well jim, last year our big hyped up release was an AR15. Apparently we missed the boat by 5 years on that cash cow so lets come up with something fresh and new for this year!" "Dont worry boss....I have an idea.....its a copy of a copy of a copy of a 100+ year old design thats only ever been marginally popular, but we are going to put sweet grips on it" "BRILLIANT!"

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/01/01/springfield-armory-911/ A copy of the Kimber Micro, which was a copy of the SIG P238, which was a copy of the Colt Mustang, which was a development of the Colt Government .380, which was a reduced size version of the Colt M1911. But its pretty, lol

Have they started making stuff in the US yet?

Lol right! Id actually prefer a gov profile for that A2 upper but Im not in a hurry. I can wait for a deal to pop up.
-
I have one on the dissy, but I want a bayo lug and I plan on using plastic hanguards/delta ring setup so id rather it pinned on.
-
I almost pulled the trigger on that $49 14.5. Only thing stopping me is the hassle of sending it out to get the FSB installed.

Wish I needed an optic! Or hadnt spent way too much on myself this xmas already..

Second Zero Prism Lens, rapid zero change

another down side is that you now have another lens in front of your scope. if you paid tons of money for high end super clear HD glass you just wasted it. -

Accuracy International in the neck?

I read it. Probably true. Could also just be backpedaling from the immediate response the article got. -

To be fair, Barrett stopped selling to CA gov/le to spotlight the fact that the whole point of the 2A was to ensure we the people were able to defend ourselves from that same gov/le should the need arise. Supporting warfighters doesnt always correlate to supporting freedom. Barrett made his stance on that very clear. Theres a good chance AI was totally misquoted. Theres a good chance he was ambushed by the question and didnt really think his response through. Theres a good chance he thinks he believes in the right to bear arms, but through no fault of his own doesnt really have a fundamental understanding of the concept. whole thing was probably blown out of proportion but i have to admit i like seeing torches. Sends a message. -
Not really understanding the question? The "how" part is determined by the bipod. I have QD bipods that are attached to rail sections mounted to the bottom of the muzzle end of the tube.
-
You have 16" of very thin lightweight aluminum with only a small contact patch and a couple screws at one end to secure it...wouldnt really expect any other result. Adding something to brace the tube against the barrel pretty much negates the whole point of a free floated handguard.
