He has an Oracle, so I'm guessing carbine length plastic handguards with goofy railed gas block currently.
A carbine length (7") free float rail for LR308 LOW will work as is. You will need a low profile gas block that will fit under the rail to run anything longer. you need to remove the gas block either way so I'd suggest getting the low pro and running any length rail you want.
Its kinder level so it's just simple stuff like vocabulary words and small sentences with some easy books every week. The pain comes from the spanish adult level directions. It's like homework for actual Mexican kids, not American kids learning Spanish. My wife is a beaner but she works nights so I'm stuck doing homework most of the week.
Funny story...dude in front of me at a change of command torture session was fully snoring at parade rest. I took the strings from the armpit vent zippers of his gortex and tied them together behind his back. when they called us to attention he looked like a T-rex and panicked. had no idea wtf was going on. the whole squad burst out laughing. We got a good smokin for that one afterwards.
You can tell he's fresh. By the end of boot hell be able to sleep soundly with that rifle up in at ready position, and wake up instantly when anyone gets within 30'
Imagine my pain...my kindergardener is learning Spanish, which is cool, but the homework directions are in Spanish. So me and Google translate are also learning Spanish.
The new Bushnell 1-8, the Burris XTRII, Weaver 1-7, USO makes one. Think March and Steiner have one. There are more but that's off the top of my head. They are expensive at the moment as the new whiz bang operator device, but it's a good concept.
The ones I've done....I just made sure the lower was secure and I had a good grip on the castle nut....and cracked that beast with a heavy rubber mallet. Popped right off.
Problem with FFP low power scopes is the reticle is really tiny at 1x, and you won't be needing a bdc for long shots at 1x. Anything outside of point blank or CQB type if stuff and you will dial up to full magnification anyway so SFP can be a better option.
The new thing is DFP where the bdc/mildot part of the reticle is FFP but the aiming dot/horseshoe/whatever is SFP so it's the same size at all X.
