My problem is I'm usually teaching on Saturday, which is when the Sportsman's truck (usually) comes now…day after yours.

Not a myth…same crew of azzwipes are the one hogging up all the .22 ammo. At Sportsman's a couple of weeks back, the crowd crushing the ammo pallet as it came out got out of hand and someone shoved a little girl down. I told the manager if it had happened with me there, there would have been an ass beating, a citizen's arrest for assault. I'm thinking about going in there and taking all their photos, then having friends of mine post those photos at the gunshows with "These are who buys .22 ammo at normal prices and gouges you here at the gunshow." Everyone needs to quit buying from them.

/\/\/\/\ Right there! There was a case recently where a 3-YEAR OLD was supposedly able to rack the slide and shoot himself. Another nearby locally, the kid got a loaded firearm from up on top of a cabinet. Mediflight to UofA Medical Center from Amado.

I don't know about you but I can carry a metric shitton now that I've lost weight.
-
Sweet! How did you get the wind noise so minimal?
-
Do you carry Condition 3, empty chamber and full magazine? If so, why? What is your reasoning, not the reasoning of somebody else. I've never carried "Israeli-style", as it seemed unsafe when I started serious-carrying (all the time, not just "Maybe I'll take a pistol today"), as my pistol was a Springer 1911A1. Tons of research showed they were to be carried Condition 1, cocked-n-locked, so that is how I trained. People are finally starting to study the difference in reaction times between loaded chamber-draw-pull trigger versus empty chamber-draw-rack slide-pull trigger. It doesn't look good for the empty chamber crowd.

Yup. That dude said when they lit off the hydrogen bombs, the orders were to cover their closed eyes with their arm. When the bomb detonated, they could see their arm bones like when you hold a flashlight up to your hand. Said they lit off a couple of the big ones, mushroom cloud seeming to reach into outer space. Afterwards they detonated one "The same size as the one dropped on Hiroshima." Said it looked like a tiny puff of smoke on the horizon, nothing.

Oh man! That just brings "sawed-off mini-me" to mind. http://ergogrips.net/delta-grip.html

I worked with a dude stationed on one of the ships at Bikini Atoll nuclear tests. Him and another guy went through their cruise book and noted all the people who had died of cancer. Most of them, except those two.

That's a bummer.

Forgot all about this thread! Melted down about 25#s of wheel weights, cleaned the soup, then cast them into clean ingots yesterday.

Before we go on about headspacing, is this a 5.56 rifle or .308AR?
-
A better question would be "Is 2200-2300fps normal for a .308 cartridge out of a 16" barrel?" Remember…the rifle is the operating system for the cartridge. Those veloceties are very acceptable. If you're getting 1/2" groups out of one of your loadings, stick with it!

:rant2: I don't need an RFB…I don't need an RFB…I don't need an RFB…I don't need an RFB... -
Congratulations novamark! You're officially the G2 labrat! It'll have its own quirks, like RRA, Armalite, DPMS, or any others. Don't remember who said it but "It used to bother me with .308 ARs not having one defined pattern/MilSpec. Then I realized they are just like any other rifle on the market, unique, and it doesn't bother me now." Now comes shooting hundreds of rounds of ammo to give us a verdict!
