  1. I didn't wear shorts yesterday. Darn well should've! Did run the a/c in the truck though!
  2. Yup…I'd say $600-ish. If the purchaser doesn't reload, that .300 Savage is going to be a bear to get ammo for it.
  3. Been to the Mammoth caves myself. One thing is sure…environmentalists would raise a MAJOR stink about a setup like that these days! Pretty cool…gift shops, restaurants, snack bars, all inside underground. Try that at Kartchner Caverns and see what happens.
  4. That's one to hang 15'x15' from the rafters!
  5. Wait wait wait…Char named the owl "Ha-Rene"?
  6. I should also add, those were all .308s (a right a proper caliber). Around here the .300s don't do well because of ammo inavailability.
  7. The couple that owns AKT (is that the umbrella corp over Uncle Mike's et al?) has a similar horror story about when they were switching their entire holding's inventory management over to RFID. The whole thing glitched after ditching the old system, then fell apart from there. Has anyone mentioned it's in the 80s here today? As Klaus says "We have the answer!"
  8. If I'm selling, sure…$1500. If I want it sold, in the condition it appears from your pics, $500-600. Can you take photos against a lighter background? Can't tell if that forearm has been dragged or it is the grain. Also looks like possible well work bluing up top. That full-buckhorn sight is most likely an add-on. My buddy just bought two, to supplement his Dad's and his brother's, and none have a full buckhorn. FWIW, buckhorns are the old dudes' answer to pisspoor stock sights, much like today's ghostrings. This is one of the rifles that should be put back into production!
  9. Ever cycle the bolt on a Lee-Enfield No.3 or 4? The real question is: does it lock up tight when closed? Not sure about the Boyd's stock for the DBM. Most of the Savages I've looked at closely have parts attached to the bottom of the receiver, via slots or tapped holes…my guess is that the Hog Hunter doesn't have them, contributing to the reduced price.
  10. Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire!
  11. From the speaker itself? Kinda looks like plaster dust from a poor mounting. Or it is the speaker missing from the Vietnamese heroin shipment, currently being tracked down to Texas.
  12. GREAT references, MM!! :hethan:
  13. I find your lack of faith disturbing. I was thinking machined copper projectiles with tungsten inserts for that badboy.
  14. No mulies over there?
  15. If there was access to a proper supply of ammo (both quantity and type), we'd have a PS90.
  16. Disparity in feelings I sense.
  17. /\/\/\/\ Funny shizzle right there! My Mom had a check of hers forged by my brother's girlfriend long ago. It was made out for "Twinny" dollars.
  18. Nice! It is good to see "naked" bikes, just plain motorcycles. Kinda sick of the cruiser and crotchrocket domination.
  19. Cool stuff! Thanks!
  20. This was an interesting refresher: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/02/12/military-roots-olympic-biathlon/
  21. Zero knowledge on fire glass. How's it work?
  22. BLK is right. Can't always count on remembering your reading glasses either.
  23. Bees for Bubba and boobies!
  24. "Jesse…you got that $20 you owe me?" <laughs> After Hell Week the fun training starts. IIRC dive school is 6 months. Half a year. Flunking any underwater lesson will get you dropped. Weapons training is on everything…if they might encounter it in the sands of Saudi Arabia, they study nay, learn it. Had the pleasure of working TDY with a UDT guy at Little Creek NOB. Great guy! They used to practice placing demolition charges on ships, with their little two-man sub-scoot thing, towing around a large orange ball on the surface…so boats knew where they were.
