  1. Welcome from AZ thespkid! Jon
  2. Excellent story! I need to get another FFL and just title it "308AR.com Funds Transfers". And retire in Belize. Jon
  3. Hhmmm...I'll do some side-x-side pics when I get a few minutes, between the XD and XDm (and the one with the PRP trigger too). Jon
  4. The XD has a square contour slide and a fixed backstrap. The XDm is as you know, with the angular slide. The XD-S has a different fire control group than the XD or XDm, pius the single stack magazine. I'd like to see it with a 4.5" barrel and an 8+1 capacity. Jon
  5. Welcome from AZ Chris! Jon
  6. Congrats Zebra! ALL the XD-series sights are a major pain to remove. The best "right-out, no problem!" solution I've heard is to use an arbor press. I'll try that next time. Jon
  7. An Australian tourist found this dog tag, while on a recent visit to Vietnam. The name was checked against the Wall in D.C., and this name is absent. Jon

    M1 Garand

That's some awesome woodwork bro! 3 hours? That must've been a big beer! <thumbsup> Jon
  9. Great placement! Jon

  11. Sixty-nine years ago today! Jon
  12. Dang! May as well get an FFL for that. Jon
  13. Who needs sound with smiles like those?! Jon
  14. Thanks Y85! Yes it does...very much so! In previous years I'd thought a very cool rifle would be a M-14/M1A in .358 Winchester. It has a great reputation for being a heavy thumper out to 400 yards or so. Then they came out with the .338 Federal and I decided to sit back and watch. Glad to hear a good and running report! Jon
  15. Excellent! Do we get a tutorial on how to smoke salmon? Jon
  16. I wish! <laughs> Jon
  17. I used to bump fire one of my M1As. There's a good reason they welded the FA selector. Probably the same reason why everyone worldwide now uses stuff in the 5mm-6mm range. Jon
  18. Here's another for Tom. Jon
  19. Welcome from AZ arcangel! Jon
  20. Sweet! I've not seen that stock setup on the EO before. Very nice! The collapsable stock is a beard snatcher. Jon
  21. Students all the time say "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight!" I like bringing up the Teuller Drill to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=9igSoJHEdUo We run force-on-force drills regularly, using rubber knifes, clubs, and AirSoft. It is a big eye opener. Jon
  22. Excellent Y85! How are you liking that .338 Federal? Jon
  23. Very nice! Looks like an Operator though...blue box, 20" barrel. My EO came in a shorter black box, collapsable stock. Jon
  24. Really? Savage was one of the few makes of which we only sent back one example. Of the big brands the biggest surprise was S&W. We sent back lots and lots...quite a few from the Performance Center. Jon
