  2. For all you Air Force guys! Jon
  3. Yeah. Make sure and videotape you taking it apart blue, so in case you make a mistake we know what not to do. Yeah, that's it. Jon
  4. http://www.eclectech.co.uk/mindcontrol.php Jon
  5. I won't ever spend a dime at Cheaper Than Dirt, after the gouging they did after Newtown. Jon
  6. Wrong turn. Why I still prefer maps. Jon
  7. Singing time! 54 seconds is a keeper! Jon
  8. I want this shirt! Jon
  9. This doesn't top that. Jon
  10. It may be 4"...that's what the website says. Compared to other scopes I've had, it feels like miles. Jon
  11. IIRC, the 30mm Monarch series has LOTS of elevation adjustments in it. Both have very good optics for the price. Jon
  12. I have the Vortex with 3.1" eye relief. That's plenty for the RRA LAR-8. Nice clear and bright image, illuminated reticle with FFP. Can't beat it for $750. Jon
  13. I used to want a crossbow bad but it seems the new compound bows' performance have closed the advantage gap considerably. Looking forward to the chrono information! Jon
  14. These days you have great choices for long range scopes. I'm happy with 4-16x50mm but others like more magnification than that. Jon
  15. <laughs> Mine's normal on the left, gets all outta control on the right. My FIL was telling me about a guy he worked with...his whiskers and hair went counter-clockwise, as you looked at him. Grew a beard and had a big hair circle around his face. Jon
  16. Yup. I went through the local CC's manual machine operator program, as that was recommended. Industry wants button pushers. Once in shops I never touched a manual machine until I got on nights. At night the tool crib was closed, so we made our jigs, modified tooling, altered clamps, etc. Having to explain zero and draw number lines is something manufacturers get tired of I'd imagine. We had a Smithy Granite at the house here that we stumbled into. You could easily hold anything to 0.001" but you could NOT hog off metal like a Bridgeport or a Bend. Makes me wonder about the people who say Smithys are crap and no good, "don't hold tolerances". Jon
  17. Welcome from AZ coach! Jon
  18. Dang blue! Now I'm curious as to what kind of surge protector failed? Jon
  19. ^^^^ Correct. Which is why we get awesome surplus deals down the road! Jon
  20. I love machining. What I don't like is the hire-and-layoff cycles in the aviation industry. Gets old. There are lots holding that same opinion around here. Jon
  21. Welcome from AZ mjk1! Jon
  22. Good question. So far though, I've been extremely happy with Brownell's branded products. I've yet to experience a dog in the line. Jon
  23. Truth. Jon
  24. Magnets bypass magnetic switches. We used to bypass them (out of sheer necessity) on various CNC machines. Jon
  25. Larry, that's not anywhere near fair. Give the husband a pot of espresso first. Contrast that home invasion with the one in Georgia or Florida, where Mom emptied her revolver into the scumbag. Jon
