  1. There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are now truly no old, bold pilots: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/10/26/top-pilot-who-stole-plane-to-escape-wwii-prison-camp-dies.html As the article mentions, shot down and captured over Germany in WWII, he stole one of their planes to escape. He flew the chase plane for Chuck Yeager's X-1 flights up to and breaking the sound barrier for the first time. After Yeager would burn out all the rocket fuel in the X-1, he and Hoover would "dog fight" on the way down to the lake bed, seeing who could get in a firing position on the other. I got to see Hoover perform a couple of times, doing this "engine out" routine in a Rockwell Shrike Commander: Once I asked my Dad what the most impressive air show display he had seen was. Completely unprompted, he stated he'd seen Bob Hoover conducting a F-100 demo. Hoover had the Super Sabre off the ground, landing gear retracted, and flipped over onto its back flying upside down by the halfway point on the runway. As entertaining as the Shrike Commander engine's out display was, he used to also do air shows in his ugly yellow P-51 Mustang with Rockwell painted down the side. Thanks Bob. Vaya con Dios!
  2. Nope, because I wasn't asking about them. They are on the "short list" for ordering. Seen plenty of hundreds of beginning students struggle with "Keep the sights aligned perfectly, while squeezing the trigger, in line with the target and focusing on the front sight." With E-sights, no issue. This is half the price of an E-sight. That's a no brainer.
  3. I'd think if you have a proper grip that would be 95% of the battle.
  4. A single rear sight, no front sight needed: Looks like the pistols are getting a retrofit! http://www.themakogroup.com/ftbullseye
  5. GREAT question! "They" don't need to bug and record everyone when people post their every waking moment on social media.
  6. Probably closer to 5 oz if you dust that scale. Dust it, then rezero that scale.
  7. Oh man that's a bummer!
  8. Bwok bwok-bwok bowk! Seriously, look at all their (or anyone else's) other slow motion shooting videos. Anything longer than a duty pistol flexes like hell.
  9. Oatmeal stout needs no milk!
  10. This would be a pretty cool accessory, if I had a Garand. One of you Garand guys needs to get one and bring it to the Arizona meetup in December.
  11. People Eating Tastey Animals! See now, you get the young idealistic 1950s bikini chicky drinking 7-8% content beer with you, then tell her "Well, we can let these steaks in the freezer go to waste!" Halfway through the steak she realizes meat is good, you say "You know, I have another kind of meat you may like..." Cue '70s porn bassline.
  12. We get our ice down at the Quikky Mart here in the desert. It may not be as fresh as when you go fish for fresh winter ice but it works.
  13. Tom's Hammer must've been made right after they did a QC check (on about the 100th rifle). That badboy is GREAT!
  14. Who knew, right?! http://www.inquisitr.com/3624558/peta-once-again-claiming-beer-is-healthier-than-milk/
  15. Remington/Cerberus/Freedom Group ruined new production Marlin from what they were. You really have to look them over now prior to making a purchase. That Henry is nice!
  16. I believe they (BATF) came up with that option on the 4473 due to the Thompson/Center Contender and Encore firearms. We really need to start back at square one with all these BS laws and get back to square one.
  17. Everyone knows those are all P. Nothing but P all over them: thin P, fat P, enhanced grippable gen 2 P, interchangeable P. Sounds like a porn genre. Edit: Forgot about the one for those folks who aren't quite sure about P, the safety P. Scared of P with no safety but not three foot double headed jelly dongs.
  18. The Pentagon is demanding soldiers repay reenlistment bonuses, which were improperly granted by their command: http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-national-guard-bonus-20161020-snap-story.html Screwed beyond being screwed. The line soldier most often knows only what they're told when it's time to re-up.
  19. Those are the most popular models, the P-series. Hunh. All your pistols are some kind of P-series.
  20. Those steel Kahrs are quite enjoyable to shoot!
  21. I can't help but wonder if the bike store owner wouldn't have been better off having shot the robbers: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/business-owner-forces-would-be-burglars-to-strip-at-gunpoint-deputies-say I find it hard to believe that a jury would convict the owner and the two related employees. Don't accept the plea bargain!
