The fukkin app! I swear, you can't get any decent schit for free anymore!

A buddy of mine recently won an AR-15 in a raffle. He was all excited and even posted it on Facebook. Then, he found out it was 300 BLK and couldn't get ammo to shoot it. I told him had plenty of brass and if he would get some 308 bullets I would be happy to load some up for him. He ended up trading it off for a 223 AR.

Same here, I've loaded tens of thousands of pistol rounds and I've never trimmed a straight wall pistol case. At one point I was shooting and reloading around 10K 40 S&W a year and never had a problem. The cases will fatigue and split at the neck before they ever need to be trimmed.

LEOs get the same discount, even after they retire!😁 I've done a lot of business with Brownells over the years, especially in all my 1911 endeavors, and they are still my go to place for parts.

I've been exercising it pretty regularly! We have a lot of paved back roads around here and being a retired cop, I know where they are all at. I went out yesterday to blacktop road that sees no traffic, it goes to a deserted mining mill. I wanted to try out a 1/4 mile timing app I downloaded on my phone. Damn thing didn't work for schit!😝

Regular unleaded pump gas, nothing fancy. That 5.7 Hemi is stock other than a bigger cam, I don't mess with the high compression stuff anymore. Gas is high enough as it is without having to go but the high octane stuff.

I would love to get this car on a dyno and get it dialed in, I'm sure there quite a bit more horsepower to be unlocked!

My daughter was over from Casa Grande and wanted me to do a burnout. Nothing like breaking in a brand new set of tires! I don't have a problem hammering on this thing!😝 Screen shot from the video; The aftermath;

There's no plastic to strip out on those. The shops here would just take advantage of them, pay them crap and still charge the crap out of the car owner.

I have two of these, one for .223 and one for .308. I HATE case trimming and these trimmers are worth every penny! Set it, forget it! https://www.ebay.com/itm/224653882178?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D234476%26meid%3D6f5bb2a0427147abb25cebbe45f41c45%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D7%26sd%3D123104416703%26itm%3D224653882178%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseWebMskuAspectsV202110&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=cksum%3A2246538821786f5bb2a0427147abb25cebbe45f41c45|enc%3AAQAGAAACEAgKicbr%2BuIhXC%2Ft4tFfAVYaDIRnEt90ztpvPRfQaAt7t%2BWqlGj3Fyl7UHH%2FFqHKzFEuBfzDMEFoT%2FdACllayOOq2B7PtVBMbSuQwJtnKLwR%2BqCBLZDcsSI%2FVKO%2By0aHHl6Xh%2Bh928fbU8qgFpG1F5fPtSPZZypw82%2B%2BfiXIydqImCRLToEkO2QbhlmUPpjK1lnujMXMOAf3hHd9omOQGoEJUW%2F9PjGW1U0dTNBuX6zKqCiG1pQuEFoQpsb5TII4qzeJYwrKYQUicM5R4B%2BOMUK%2FfS7Sx7GfwA3KAVTZePvUIZL8VLjOQcDlrMbSm8%2F4nxf09nbU6EhrvUDO6i0V1tMnvHyo%2BdNiIYfVilUmhGcy4%2BCvvZ%2BkMywobYrAc4KNW2FwW1Uinlis7EdvAXyTDgR11BDZcSIQIvaHMM4x3Y3oqCHcSdAia8Y7RbIo6EGl8xmPL23eOxHbNDKhNxbJ6q4X9eQxHhF%2BfOWc0JMc7nt31yN%2FF2pQ1PeQ%2BghcGDoMcB4605LJNJ53PyH2xbgPbFLiuxBwcXcVXVlZwdS2MHPFvqa3ckKvPOnA8mIwZ%2Byu%2Fwl4ymC%2BefnxumDLTWYl6SYx%2FeUTrSfw4uy%2FTG6eMZL%2FeB1yqggKtC0nbTkm7pkiDU98POoKiwMoWu63LDMUYV07PLxjhholbBc6VKWgjnHi9ZcvpxfIaW9JALf5X1QlKA%3D%3D|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2047675&epid=1812001313

Yup! Beavertail that biotch! I own an RIA in 38 Super and I've worked on a few others. Damn good guns for the price!

Awesome! That reminds me of the first USPSA match my youngest shot. He was 10 years old and shot a single stack 1911 45 ACP. One of the guys from the El Paso club was there and he asked "Is he shooting reduced loads?" "Hell no!" I replied, "They're full house loads!" He took some video and told me "That's for next time someone tells me they don't shoot a 45 because it kicks too much!"

Damn, that girl looks almost identical to my first wife back when we first got married! 1974!

Ron, I'm not sure when we are taking off to Albuquerque so when you get times firmed up let me know. We would love to see you and Susan again.

I put a late model 5.7 Hemi from a Ram truck in it about 13 years ago. I've been cruising it since I got it back and took kit to a couple of local car shows. No trophies (I reaaly don't care) but a helluva lot of fun!

The factory Rallye hood I had in the shed was really bent up, but they said they could fix it. Damned if they didn't!

1970 Cuda, I've been dinkin' with this thing for 20+ years now. THIS is why I haven't been on the forum much lately. I had it painted back around 2005 and the guy really fukked it up! in less than 2 years the paint was cracking and lifting. About 4 years ago I got so disgusted with how it looked I put it in storage. I pulled it out a few months ago and got it running again and then took it to a body shop across the border in Mexico, of all places. When the local places see a classic car all they see is $$$ and want to bend you over and rape you. Anyway, this is what I ended up with.

NO! You won't save money, but you WILL shoot more. I've been reloading for over 40 years and I've never saved any money but I have shot a lot more than I ever could have afforded if I had just bought loaded ammo. At one point, when I was real active in USPSA competition, I was reloading and shooting 8 to 10 thousand pistol rounds a year.

I'm interested in hearing how this build runs! After building my 40 S&W AR I decided that if I ever decide to build a 10mm it will be a gas gun with a locking bolt. No way I'm going to try building a blowback 10mm! I've got the Sprinco orange AR-308 spring and a 8.5 oz. buffer in the 40 build and it is still pretty violent.

Riiiight!!!

What I learned as a noob about building a "Frankenstein" LR-308
392heminut replied to Homebuilt's topic in Building a .308AR
You DO NOT want to run a 2.5" buffer in the "7.75" buffer tube! The longer tube uses the standard length 3.25" buffer. If you use the shorter buffer your BCG will slam into the lower receiver where the buffer tube screws in and beat the hell out of it!
