  1. Nice trade Rene. I would love to get my hands on one of those!
  2. I would think that the burning rate of the powder being used would have an effect on that, and maybe the bullet weight to a lesser extent.
  3. Hey Ron.................. :thefinger:
  4. IMR4320 is right next to Varget on the Hodgdon burn rate chart.
  5. Mine is that same slickside upper and the lack of a dust cover and shell deflector has not been a problem at all. The rail IS taller than any forearm on the market, but if all your going to run is optics that's really a non-issue too. As for the lack of a forward assist, those things are worthless IMO. I put a plug in my 300 BLK upper and will do the same with every build from now on. I'm not wasting any money on them any more, in the 30+ years I've been shooting these rifles a forward assist has NEVER solved any problem and has actually created a couple for me.
  6. Yup! I've used a couple of different spray lubes. It's not so much which lube you use, it's the process that is the time and mess saver.
  7. If it is functioning okay now then it's okay.
  8. Windshield sticker! <thumbsup>
  9. +1 on that! The spray lube is a MUCH better way to go.
  10. Did he just say Cheaper Than Dirt?...............................................Here it comes! <lmao>
  11. Yup!
  12. Mine has a 10.5 barrel with pistol gas system and a generic carbine spring and buffer. I haven't had any problems with cycling at all.
  13. Dude, anyone that can FILL the bed of a pickup with rifle cases has my admiration! :hail:
  14. Sign me up for some of those reloads too! <lmao>
  15. Tom, headed to the range to do a little shooting! Seriously! <lmao>
  16. Yup! That's why I use the WFT case trimmers now. http://www.littlecrowgunworks.com/wft.html
  17. Nice! <thumbsup> Unfortunately you now have the 1911 virus! <lmao>
  18. Jon, that looks suspiciously like some of the descriptions of Tom and Dirk's dune trips! :eek7: Fukkit, I'm stayin home! <lmao>
  19. Just picked it up up from my LGS a while ago. It has the night sights!
  20. Adam, I would love to see pics at different stages as this project takes shape!
  21. <laughs> <lmao>
  22. Nah, I was talking about cerakoting the 1911 after the work is done on it. Dammit Shibi, NOW you got me thinking about an FDE Sig! :thefinger:
  23. Just pick up a cheap plastic collander at the dollar store and dump the brass from the tumbler into it with it sitting on a 5 gal. bucket. Shake the collander a little and there you go! I did it that way for years until I won a Midway brass separator at a USPSA match. Yeah, I can be cheap sometimes. <lmao>
  24. That looks like you got a great deal! And, there's nothing wrong with starting with a single stage press to learn your way around reloading. I suspect that most of us started on a single stage press. Fair warning though, reloading is like owning AR rifles, you WILL want to move up. It's a sickness! <thumbsup>
