  1. It was meant to be brother!
  2. Nice shooting Doodle!
  3. Welcome from New Mexico Dave! The AP set you got is a great start for your build. 308 AR's are somewhat different than building an AR-15 since there are different variations and some parts don't play well with others. We've pretty much seen it all so you'll be able to get good advice from the folks here on your build. Don't hesitate to jump right in with any questions you have but be forewarned, we're very accomplished at helping people spend their money!
  4. I'm glad you got what you did Sisco! My dad's tools weren't Snap-On but they were his and that is what was important. My stepmother tried the same BS but my grandfather managed to get over there and gather up some of his sockets and wrenches for me. She gave a lot of stuff away to HER relatives! I cherish what few tools of my dad's that I do have and use them still.
  5. Yup, I've got a Snap-On #2 phillips that I've had since 1976! I know exactly how you feel Tom!
  6. ^^^^That right there! You did good getting the Faxon barrel, their customer service is great and as you see, they have a presence on the forum here and WILL help you sort it out if we can't!
  7. That's a great looking rifle! I agree with 98 on the Armalite AR-10 buffer system too! Used one in my Matrix build. I have a feeling you'll want to move on to bigger and better things in relation to that 1-4 scope though. These guns can make good use of much higher power scopes easily! The good thing is that if you decide to go to a bigger scope later you can start an AR-15 build for the 1-4 scope! We've had guys start a build because of a lot lesser parts lying around!
  8. Yup, you're hooked! Abandon hope all ye who enter here! Welcome from New Mexico!
  9. You two are a class act! BTW, I remember the alley incident, great story!
  10. Tom and I discussed this and he hasn't had that problem with his Faxon 223 pencil barrel and I don't think it will be a problem with my 308. This build was always meant to be a lighter field carry type build from the start, and I'm not a high volume shooter with the 308 as it is. I would have went with the next heavier contour but they're out of stock. Faxon stress relieves these barrels for what that's worth.
  11. Fukkin enablers! Tom, you KNEW that barrel in my Matrix barrel was a POS! Just had to post this up didn't ya! Thanks brother, with the discount I got a great deal and am looking forward to having a much better shooting rifle!
  12. Wash, thank you and give Char a big hug for me for supporting my brothers and sisters in blue! You guys rock!
  13. You made it brother! When you coming down?
  14. The sister of the bomber stated that the attack was retaliation for America bombing Syria! That right there says a LOT! These P.O.S. azzholes go do their deeds where they will encounter the least resistance, countries where the citizens are denied the right to keep and bear arms to defend themselves. Retaliate against America but do it in Great Britain? Yup, Europe's 'gun free zones' are now targets of opportunity! How's that gun free schit working out for you?
  15. I've got one of those in my Matrix build and it works great!
  16. Hey! You wanna help me rebuild the power steering sector from my Cuda???? I already have the kit!!!
  17. Tom, you need to get checked for dyslexia brother!
  18. Well, our Fallen Officer Run is over and we did great! The bad news is no one on the board won the rifle. The winner was a nurse at our hospital whom I've known since she was a little girl. That is two years in a row that my wife has sold the winning ticket and it has been to a nurse! The cool thing is, this girl is a shooter! She just bought herself a Glock .380 for concealed carry a couple of weeks ago. Again, I can't thank all of you enough for your support. We couldn't help the families of fallen officers without the support we get from all of you!
  19. Says a retired U.S. Army Ranger that shoots 45-70 lever action rifle just for shitz & grins!
  20. A lot of people have started out with those Lee hand presses and loaded great ammo with them! Living in an apartment can be really cramped and that just might be the best thing for you under your present circumstances. Sounds like your fiancee is a keeper for sure!
  21. Yeah, I just wish I'd brought more damn ammo for it so we could have shot it more!
  22. I agree! My oldest and youngest boys got in on the reloading with me when growing up. The others didn't seem to have any interest in that stuff. Guess who gets all my guns when I'm gone!
  23. Nice! I for one would appreciate the info!
