The most pathetic marketing ever comes from a reputable brand

I'm with Shepp, I wouldn't kick any of those girls out of bed for eatin crackers! -
Sucks that I got to this thread so late. You should have put red Loctite in the pin holes in the frame before putting the plunger tube on the frame and staking the pins! The red Loctite fills up any voids or slop between the staking pins and the frame so the tube can't move. The reason the pins shear off is because of recoil forces causing the tube to move and the red Loctite stops that. Those itty bitty front sight blades that Colt put on the old models? They sheared off for the same reason, even though there was very little mass to them. Back before the dovetailed front sights got popular we used to stake them on and I always filled the sight channel with red Loctite before staking the sight on. I never had a front sight or plunger tube that I did come loose. Same thing with those grip bushings, they are supposed to be staked after screwing them into the grip frame. Always put red Loctite on the threads and then stake them. DON'T put any kind of Loctite on the grip screws themselves. I can usually get the bushings off the grip screws when they come out like that and use them over again. I hold the threaded part of the bushing with the tip of the jaws on a pair of pliers and back the grip screw out with a screwdriver or allen wrench. A little work with a three cornered needle file and some careful attention starting them back straight into the grip frame usually works. If some dumbass put some kind of thread locker on the grips screws all bets are off though. BTW, there is a special tool for staking the grip screw bushings too, it's almost impossible to properly stake them without it.

Bwaaahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! You been watching too much DIY Network brother! I thought I would have my bathroom done in four weeks and that turned into four months! And that was with all the stuff I thought I would need stacked out in the garage. That was working on it almost every fukkin day! The best advice I can give you is have a contingency plan because that job WILL turn out longer than you planned.

Lawyers have ruined this country! I would rather have a daughter that was a stripper than a son who was a lawyer! -

How much of a secret can it be when all you have to do is pull the gas block off and measure it! That's just B.S.! -
Electric jackhammer brother!

SONOFABITCH! The mutherfukker that built my house did your bathroom! I swear my bathroom floor had the exact same tile with at least 1" of concrete under it, just like the pic you posted. I rented an electric jackhammer to get that schit broke up! The tub looks like it was from the same manufacturer as mine too, same sick pink and the same accent lines on the sides! Don't use plywood for the walls if you don't want to be tearing the walls out to redo them in a few years! No matter what sealer you use, the water will still get to the plywood. Rene was right about using cement board brother, that's the best way to go for the underlayment on the walls. I built a walk-in shower and did the PVC liner. The liner goes up 12" on the wall with the corners folded over so there are no seams to leak. The cement board then went on over that with no screws into the wall studs lower than 10". We then poured and graded a cement floor for the stall. I then coated the floor and walls up 12" with a product made by Mapei called Aqua Defense that was recommended by a buddy of mine that does this stuff for a living. You can use thinset right over it to do your tiling. If you don't do anything else, at least coat the bottom 12" of whatever you use for the walls under your tile or whatever with the Aqua Defense.

They say use it or loose it as we get older. You push yourself a lot more than most folks your age & shape so I doubt you'll end up in a wheelchair! Rock on brother!

Work Benches ...where we build our awesome rifles
392heminut replied to washguy's topic in Club House
I bet I've got you both beat! Over 30 feet of work bench and pretty much all of it looks like there was some kind of explosion or something! Friggin chaos is what it is, my wife and the granddaughters won't go near it, they're afraid something living in there will get them! -

Small problem with free float handguard with rail gas block.

Casey, I think the gas tube issue is more due to the barrel than the upper receiver. I had the same issue as you with the gas tube being too short on the Matrix aerospace upper too. -
No, SUPERsonics! I haven't loaded any subsonics yet.

I built the can. I started a thread on the build put I haven't updated it. I was having a problem emailing pics from my phone to my email account so I could get them on my computer to be able to post them. I think the issue is resolved so as soon as I have some time I will update the build thread.
-
Eventually I'm going to build a 6" direct thread can that will stay on this gun. Just have to get the budget built back up so I can send in another $200 and wait several months!
-
Yup, $400 to uncle Sugar just so I can have that stuff!
-
Yup, pretty much sums it up!
