  1. Check out the new SB3 brace.
  2. Most certainly they are louder, you can feel it in your chest. Easy solution, AAC SDN-6 suppressor I've got less $ in my 12.5 inch gas gun with the Cerakote but paid about $500 more for my P716 with 12.5 inch barrel. Build a shorty, CDNN has Sig barrels for $49.99 on sale.
  3. Check for any movement in the rail or the barrel. I have experienced similar issues at times but then that same rifle will shoot fine from the cold bore on the next trip, figured it must be me then.
  4. Sometimes the shooter needs the warm up. Do you try some dry fire first?
  5. Thought I remembered reading you had leaned on one good with no issues. If they are going to hold up good then I might need more, maybe see if my Cerakote guy can color them to match the rifle they can call home, for that money I can have dedicated bipods.
  6. And your method is a good bit cheaper!
  7. Thank you for a well written explanation, now I think I understand the purpose of the "match rifle" headspace gauge sets like this, am I on track? https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/measuring-tools/headspace-gauges/223-5-56mm-match-rifle-headspace-gauge-set-prod42236.aspx
  8. True to his word my local gun pusher saved me one of the few Magpul bipods he was able to get. I have not put in the field yet but just fumbling around with it I am impressed with the features for the money. In comparing to my Atlas it lacks in number of leg positions with only 90 degrees available while the Atlas will do 45 degrees in either direction. The Atlas has a little less wiggle in it but not a great deal of difference and not one I think will matter. It uses the same feet as my Atlas but requires a roll pin to be driven out instead of a steel plunger so no quick changing of feet in the field. The biggest plus I see is the Magpul beats the Atlas on pan and tilt, Atlas V8 has 15+/- degrees of pan and tilt while the Magpul has 25 +/- degrees tilt and 20+/- degrees pan. The tension for pan and tilt is easily adjusted and seems very stout. I also prefer the leg deployment on the Magpul, it just flips down while with the Atlas you have to depress the plunger for any movement. Height adjustment on the legs is positive and firm, I think I prefer the button activation over the pull the collar on the Atlas, seems more ergonomic, easier to accomplish with one hand. Considering I could buy nearly 3 of the Magpul's for one Atlas if it holds up as well as the Atlas then it's a winner for sure.
  9. Excellent work! Somebody get this info pinned somewhere for easier reference, please.
  10. Update; My Barrel Cool took a crap. Can’t imagine it had more than 5-6 hours on it tops but it did get hauled around in the range bag the whole time I had it. I thought it just needed new batteries but all that did was make the whine louder. It wouldn’t move much to any air. I emailed the company Sunday and they had a replacement ready for shipping this morning. Even better they sent a shipping label to return the old one and figure out why it failed. Good to know that even though they only list a 90 day warranty they still back up their product without a hassle.
  11. HUSTLE Pale Ale from that Eau Claire WI The Brewing Projekt, another beer from that Wisconsin care package. Has that tropical fruit aroma. It has a ripe grapefruit flavor, sweet with a little bite, maybe some lemon like notes at the finish. I think I am tasting some malty flavor underneath, like a cream ale. Another outstanding brew from the Projekt!

I have seen my share of gamey meat from Walmart!
  14. CDNN just put their 12.5 inch 308 Sig barrels on sale for $49.99 + $4.99 flat rate shipping. You will need a custom gas tube but other than that I built with standard parts, a D Wilson bolt headspaced fine. https://www.cdnnsports.com/sig-sauer-716-12-5in-308-1-10-chrome-lined-barrel.html#.W-oXj5NKjb0 https://www.cdnnsports.com/sig-sauer-716-12-5in-308-chrome-lined-barrel.html#.W-oXoZNKjb0
  15. Nice work ?
  16. Sharp looking rifle and a very nice group ?
  17. Welcome from Iowa!
  18. Maybe but doubt it will entirely. I put some thick rubber grip tape on the deflector, seemed to help the most, that and turning down the gas.
  19. You need to get yourself a starter pistol or use firecrackers.
  20. That looks great ?
  21. Warning shots are for Hollywood productions not real life. A firearm should not be pulled if there is not the intention and the need to use it.
  22. This reminds me of my wife's step-father, enlisted in the Navy at 14. Of course he had lied about his age, story is an older family member signed for him claiming he was 16. He was a patriot for sure but he described it as more to do with having a bed and three meals a day than wanting to fight. He didn't claim any veterans benefits until his 70's, knowing he lied on his enlistment papers he was afraid of getting in trouble. I believe there was some sort of amnesty on this before he started using the VA, got his GED through them. A humble man, a working man, a great man.
  23. Dead Kennedy’s ! Love the classic To Drunk to Fuk And of course
  24. Another one from the care package Terminal DIPA from that Eau Claire WI The Brewing Projekt. Has that Tropical fruit like aroma, sweet. A nice sweet orangey citrus flavor up front. Finishes with a dry orange pith bitter, nothing overpowering just a very tasty beer. My wife says it taste like someone put orange juice in a beer. It appears those Wisconsin brewers got it going on!
