It's all about personal comfort and preference my man. Brakes and comps just help reduce muzzle rise and recoil. No rule says that you have to use them or not. For that matter, not all barrels are threaded for them. Like I said. All about personal choice.

Hogue's are all I use on my AR's. And no gap problems on any of my 10's. Keep in mind that mine are all Armalite's (and 1 POF). Can't speak for the other patterns. But I do have a BRO matched set that I've been planning on building off of.

One word. YES! These things are putting out alot more power than a 556. Pressures are off the scale compared to their little brothers. Though I wouldn't want one of those blowing up in my hands (and/or) face either. -

Yep. Rockset. I've used them on all of mine (mainly for suppressor use). And they don't budge. But they can still be removed if tearing down the rifle.
