This is my “house gun”, went down to the local sports shop and got a used 870 slug gun paid 150-200$ for it. Added magpul furniture, an extended mag tube 8+1and a magpul barrel clamp. Later on I came across a deal on a Carlson barrel treaded for chokes and got it and a door breach choke for it. The receiver is old I think early 80’s, chambering a round would be enough warning for an intruder to GTFO, CLACK CLACK!!!

Where that yellow sign is was the bar I had the Rocky Mountain oysters it, they still let people smoke in bars in wy, it was horrible in there lol. Lusk is the biggest little town in miles of about 1500 people, but it’s a pretty happening little town. Some places did have local WY beer mostly outta Cheyenne or Gillette, I had a really good oatmeal stout that was local but I didn’t catch the name. That truck had a Cummings in it, was a bad ass rig

Thinking of grasslands I think boring, but WY was pretty cool. I did find myself missing trees yesterday tho. Great inexpensive trip and easily done with GPS/On X app/ BLM maps.

Yesterday morning about 25 min in I bagged my first pronghorn antelope. Shot was 152 yards double lunged him and dropped almost instantly, Horns with a quick measurement came out to 14.5” plus. It’s cold wet and miserable here the past two days but the weather is suppose to break this afternoon

I’ve always had a hard time looking thru binoculars. I’m not sure why, but my dad has an oldschool pair of nikons and I’ve looked thru others and I got better vision with my naked eye, never been able to focus. Worked some over time and had some money to burn so I stop in cabelas. guy shows me a nice pair of Nikon prostaffs in my payment range. Look thru them across the store focus in on a goose, damn I like these. Ok next I want a chest rig so I don’t have them hanging off my neck all day. Guys like I got this 100$ Sitka rig, nope fuck that........I got this xxxx$ vortex rig but if you buy their nockers it comes with them. Ok where are they at?!? Pick out a pair or crossfire HD 12x50’s. Guy walks me up to the counter I stand there in line behind some people after the cashier whispers something to the guy that helped me. Finally ten min later the cashier says to me with 2 people infront of me “sir if you have cash I can help you, other wise the systems down” I reply “you know this binos are for me right?” He says “yea do you have cash.” I reply “no and I assume you told the guy who brought my 140$ binos up here the system was down, yes” him “yes” me “then why in the fuck did it take you ten min to tell me this?!?” Him “um um um” me “yea have a nice day thanks for wasting my time” ended up being a blessing got home remembered I had a 20$ off couple from my birthday and I ordered the vortex crossfire HD 12x50’s. The chest rig is super nice. Comes with lens caps, chest harness, neck sling and lens towel and of course that great vortex warranty. Took them out into the country and did some glassing and they’re the best binos I’ve ever looked thru. And 19 pints of tomato salsa yesterday

8 pints of salsa verde tonight went to the farmers market at 0800, got peppers, onions and garlic from a man who has a small family farm near by and sells his stuff so cheap it’s not worth me growing it. 0930 stopped at the liquor store bought some craft brews. 1030 got home washed what i got and picked 5# of tomatillos out the garden. 1100 cracked my first beer and watched the badgers open a can of whoop ass on the wolverines. 1400 started roasting pepper, garlic and onions. 1600 started charing tomatillos. 1700 blended everything and got it simmering 1730 new neighbors invite me over for beers. 2100 get canner going and everything should be locked up by 2230...

I know they were and got the short end of the stick but there have been many issues. Not far from where I deer hunt one gunned down a bunch of guys after he trespassed and was in a guys tree stand, a lot of gang issues too
