Yeah, Slash's CAR-10 heavy buffer & the spring is $111 I believe. But I got Slash's CAR-10 XH which is $137 with the spring :o The more I read the more money I spend. I bet I gots one of the more expensive builds here :cookoo: I gotta get this thing finished, I can't tell you that this combo I have will work good <dontknow> But Magpul recommends the CAR-10 for use in their UBR stock so I just went and got it without considering it's viability with the JP LMOS. It should be okay after all, but I'm just a worry wart. "Old DPMS bolt"? Is that an older one than the current DPMS? You should be good with current one. With the normal size bolt it holds inertia that is good for carrying the momentum in the cycle. It is tried and true when everything else is up to par. From what I have read a heavy buffer and proper spring will cure a lot of issues with these AR's timing. I think you might need to slow your action down with different buffer set up. Again I ain't no expert and urge you to seek out proper council. In fact I hear that if you call this guy, Clint (Slash) Butler (419) 299-8821, he can school you a lot. <thumbsup> Mike

Requires a good barrel, yes. But I gotta give props to the shooter on this <thumbsup> Barrels just don't do that on their own.

I'm hoping the Slash's CAR 10 heavy buffer with the Armalight spring will do me some good. I'll find out sooner or later. So I don't remember, do u have the JP LMOS bolt carrier too? I'm thinking that was you. If you do do you have the adjustable gas block? What is a MASS bolt carrier, is it just a regular one? But yeah a heavy buffer with spring should do u a world of good me thinks. Slow u down on the way out and slam u back in harder is what I envision that thing doing for you. But I'm by no means any kind of expert whatsoever, ya know......

Bob!!! What the hell is going on over there, man??? I'm all good now just had to adjust my attitude, you know? Hey sorry to hear about your rail, they will take care of you, yes? And what is happening with the jamming? What's it doing exactly?

Update: okay I'm over it now, I like it and not mad about anything anymore. I will be happy please excuse my rants from before.... Right now a lapping tool is being made for the upper receiver. You can buy these tools for AR15 but can't find for our large receivers. I found a gun smith who works with AR15 but wants to get in with the bigger platform so he is having tool made for himself. I'll detail all this lapping thing later with Pics as we do it. It's easy with the tool.

Yeah, well he's supposed to come over tonight and we are using my JD upper for the dims. then he'll have somebody turn one out. Shouldn't be a big deal at all. He's a Smith too....
-
What it does for your upper... http://www.kiesfirearms.com/Centerfire.html they gots them for AR15 but can't find one for our size... http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=20220/Product/AR-15-M16-UPPER-RECEIVER-LAPPING-TOOL?avad=avant

JP was busy making lots of bolts the last several weeks. Mine was shipped I got it last Friday. Maybe they not make enough <dontknow>
-
Yeah that's kind of how I fell into the whole JP thing with mine. I decided I wanted their bolt first and then read up on the other JP stuff, LOL, one part lead to another

Doesn't a tensioning screw accomplish the same thing as the bedding idea? But maybe that will leave a gap between receivers <dontknow>

... for our .308, that I can find, I got a guy that's going to have one made, for himself now because he's in the business. Yeah we're gonna do this thing and a few other things probably. I'll try and document procedure with pics so I can share with you all, if possible.

I get it... I ordered a AR15 lower, a MEGA GTR-3H from Dave Branson, I have not told her about it yet, gonna wait :o
-
Your friend could be correct, Bob <dontknow> I was thinking I'll do it with that break in ammo that, oh I can't remember the name of it. I have to go look again, be back later.... THIS . > http://308ar.com/forum/ammunition/tubb's-'final-finish'-ammunition/

Lapping tool please!!!!! Really isn't there one for our .308's? Don't make me have to go and have one made!!!!

Hi Bob, how was your weekend? That is a '72 240Z highly modified, I got a great deal on her a few years back. To post pics you probably have to re-size them first. I use the Paint program in the Accessories folder if you are running on a PC. open your pic from Paint and find the re-size tool. I usually go 40% of original size with mine, if that's not enough then open it back up and go 80 or 90% of original.
-
Thanks Brother unforgiven :D Non worries anymore I'm sure I will be happy when she 100% with good glass and everything and I'm out yonder shootin'.
-
I appreciate that Terry. I'm hoping that this .308 had enough spring & buffer that comes back hard enough. They slam harder than AR 15's. If not then you're right & then at least I can go there if I have too.
-
LoL!! No they 10 years old now, the way luck goes I would do that and then they would stab be in the back and fail...
