That is true , the size does seem to be dropping here as they are getting hunted and as the prey base has now grown much smaller I assume they will average out at some point but in the last few years as they have found pockets of elk and deer that had not been effected the biggest seem to come from these areas...

I see a pic of the Idaho wolf in that and it has grown to 212 lbs lol to the best of my knowledge it was a local guy here in Idaho that show that wolf i will check on it and it was supposed to weigh in the 180 range if I remember right but it is good to see Wisconsin killing their share...

even empty and no glass it weighs the same as a stock DPMS carbine there is no light weight version with a med contour barrel S&W makes the lightest AR308 I have held in my hands and it is just 10 oz lighter than mine....you hang all the crap on it and then you will be asking yourself if I have to run and gun how the hell am I going to carry this thing... I carry mine on a vickers 2 point combat sling hanging in front, or I carry it by the scope use it like a carry handle when in thick brush. after a 10 mile hike I am asking myself the same questions.....

So what is your preferred way I have always carried OWB but in hot summer I am thinking of trying IWB....

whenever you get this mythical weapon let me know we will get together and shoot the $hit out of them drag em thru the mud slide em down rock slides and lean them up against trees at night still wet and you know what my DPMS will still go bang every time cause i already been there and done that! you seem to have a thing against a rifle you do not even have... go buy a 3500 rifle and then scratch the crap out of it doing what i do bet ya don't lo,l :) PS. crap ammo shoots like crap dirty not accurate etc etc so why buy or build a 4,000 gun to shoot crap ammo in that is like buying a Ferrari and running regular gas in it....no matter what gun you get it is only as good as the ammo you feed it .you want accuracy long range? you got alot of work to do ...

My DPMS carbine weighs just under 9 lbs I pack this rifle in the mountains of idaho rain ,snow, dust, mud, I do not sissyfi my weapons they are tools they get carried on ATV's snowmobiles, etc at 9 lbs I do not kn ow you , but add a 60 lb pack, binos ,water and a bunch of other stuff and I will flat out tell you the last thin g you want is a 12 or 13 lb rifle forget the 20 inch barrel these things are pigs .....make it as light as you can.. I know from practical experience..

I got one that wasa recall fixed and it will put all rounds in one hole if i can hold it there a great little pistol and I am seldom without it , my Kimber custom tac 2 is feeling left out...

I found some but i did not like the after taste so i will stick with the basics LOL here is what our garden looks like in August..
