Did not like the looks of 10 of the brass so I pitched them. Small cracks, or splits, etc. Most of it was 1975 brass left over from 98's lube test, so I was pretty picky. Had a problem with my Lee hand primer, and wedged 5 primers in sideways before I figured out the issue. (A small piece of metal wedged in the cylinder). Didn't want to mess with getting them out so I threw those 5 as well. Setting these aside for the Fall Shoot if I can make it.

Nope. My Amazon Prime order of RCBS 223 small base dies showed up, along with my Lee 223 crimping die. My local hardware store didn't have a small enough bolt puller, so I have to run over to another one tomorrow. Until then it is sitting in the chest freezer. Then I will use it for back up.

Well said. Right now I see threats to our liberties from both the extreme left and the extreme right. They are just manifesting themselves differently. The left would take our personal freedoms from us. The extreme right would take our financial freedom from us. The left, stifiling unarmed political correctness, the right, 1% having 90% of our countries wealth paying no taxes on most of it. The rest of us crippled by the cost of health care, and the loss of jobs overseas and to automation. Neither one is acceptable to me.

We had two, one died post op. Inherited my Mother in laws two when she passed. So now we have three between 12 and 17 years. Can't get the Newfoundland I want until a couple pass away.

I will see about getting one. I just picked up a set of RCBS small base dies for $32 on Amazon, so I wonder if it is worth it, but you never know when it might happen again. This way I will have a backup set. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Good idea.

I was sizing some deprimed twice fired Remington 223 brass this morning when this happened after about 60. The rim bent and popped out of the shell holder. I rotated the die a bit to get some fresh shoulder, sprayed some lubricant in the die and tried to ease it out, and stripped again. Also the deprimer won't release after I unscrewed it. I have done 1500+ reloads off this die. And never had this happen in 40 years of reloading. I am guessing its time for a new set of small base dies.

Herk308, what are you shooting now? Hopefully something that treats you better. PSA is really letting themselves in for a PR nightmare. They should man up for that reason if no other and fix the first gen issues.

A lot of muslims would agree with that. Along with Yazidi Christians, and about everyone else in Syria and Iraq. Time to stamp ISIS out and go on to the next one.
