You ccould rebuild the 383 for 10k and have plenty of power and reliablity.

I have a spare Weiand Tunnel Ram manifold I will sell him. Old man Loper set up my charger back in 85' when I had the 383 in it and I had least 700 hp out of that engine.

When I saw the title the first thought was... He got a Lid Cam. For $139.95.

This is almost an exact duplicate of the gas block which is on MY 6.8spc 24" designed by Mark at Dane Armory. I have had it on this gun for a couple of years. The difference is slots grooved in the adjustment screw.

Dude you have to put the 383 in that Cuda ! I know all the right part combos . I have built 2 383's and even have spare hi pro parts in the garage .Had a 1970 Challenger and have a 1971 DC w/a 440. Had a 1968 Dodge Coronet 500 with a 383 when I was in high school.

I will have some 300blk pistol barrels for sale in a week or two in both 1 - 8" and 1 - 10" twist versions.

Shot Edge's and Rob's gun both are very nice ! I would be afraid of breaking the Larue Rob's seemed tuffer. OK .... maybe it was the scope ! LOL

I shot one larue ,a very nice gun. Good build quality, fit and finish were smooth. But wortth what was spent on it, I don't think so. I would venture most owners have them as safe queens ! I own two Dpms rifles ; First bought it back in 2008 have 1600 - 1800 rounds thur it. Only one FTE at round 57 and I broke the charging handle that is the only problem I have had from it. 16 inch barrel iron sights takes dpms ,c products and Pmags. $1250 and dependable. Second was a 24 inch Bull barrel upper I got from Brownells for $950 , I have had this on 5 different lowers. I changed quadrail added scope , gunfighter chaging handle., bipod has come and gone.. curent lower has a two stage trigger. Magpul buttstock and other goodies. It shoot sub moa but I have had a few minor problems. Price comes in a few hundred dollars less than a Larue but its a one of a kind. I would take my cheap 16 inch dpms to war !! It is the most depandable gun I own.

Sized 21 223 cases from the Marana shoot, they were all short. I marked the sizing die with a marker before I took it off my press after the last session so it was still accurate. Added a new step to the process : cut below shoulder ,trim to 1.380" before sizing , deburr ,size , trim to 1.368" ,I/O champher , size ,wash off lube.

I have been pondering about a Caspian frame and slide, Wilson Combat and Colt internal parts. Wolfe springs a 10mm barrel and rubber grips all based on a Govt series 70 setup. Are you pondering what I'm pondering "Pinky" ?

did you use 42.75gr of 4064 ? Which primer ?

That's a good thing or Robocop would be shooting bad guys with Golden Talons and 165gr SGK HP's. Or Sabo rounds !

Rob, here is a starting point: Sierra prohunter 125gr ,CCI 34 ,H335 46.0gr at 2.700" Nos Ball Tip 125gr ,Win WLR , H335 44.0gr at 2.750" Note : This worked on MY gun ! Please begin at starting load and work your way up to an accurate load. Results may vary.

Just remembered that buttstock ! So that would make this the second longest build on this forum...Right ! The longest would be the #18 Kyle Busch 270wsm gun. LOL Hope it shoots lights out. !

Since '222' called me on the Nosler Accubond 125gr bullets. I also loaded Nosler Ballistic Tip Hunting (green tip) 125gr spitzers p/n 30125 50 ct box. 8.0 gram which is recommended for deer and antelope. The other bullet is Sierra Prohunter 30cal 125gr spitzer #2120 100 ct box. All were tested with the 20 inch upper with iron sights on a sandbag at Rio (Usery Pass). Also shot the Prohunters at 4 Peaks juust under 800 yards one mag on a 10 x12 inch target , all hits with no wind that day.. I will look up my loads if you want them. Had to break out the notebook for this info , can't believe its useful.

When are you going to shoot it ?

Rob , I loaded and shot a bunch of 125gr poly tipped bullets. White and green tipped. They cycled fine.1.5 to 2.0 MOA. A bit pricey at $17.99 for 50 but I did get them at Bass Pro so that is expected.
