  1. Welcome form AZ!!!! Some here would discourage you from getting a CMMG, but it looks like you have some experience wrenching with the rifles so you will be good to go IMO. The CMMG MK3 platform is good to go. You should give it the once over before you take the first shot though. It's not uncommon to find that the barrel nuts aren't torqued down tight enough on them.

    Oh shut up you.
  3. Can't find the pics. There WERE pics. That's what she gets for not making me a sammich.
  4. I think I need bifocals soon....
  5. Yep, it's like a red dot sight at 1x.
  6. That's a good price but I recommend this one for about $100 more: http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Illuminated-Reticle-Riflescope-Turrets/dp/B00AU6EIIY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418328172&sr=8-1&keywords=bushnell+1-4+pcl FFP, illuminated, and for that price? Hard to beat.
  7. My CMMG MK3 had the incorrect bolt catch out of the box, and they sent me a new bolt catch. After about 200-300 rounds, the barrel nut worked loose. Small issues and easily fixed if you have the right tools and know-how. Other than that, the thing shoots well and runs reliably.
  8. It's hit or miss with them. Often you have to "touch up" the rifle out of the box - tighten some stuff, make sure right parts are installed. After that it runs like clockwork. ....besides, its easier to just go with a 300 AAC instead. Same/similar ballistics (perhaps even better IMO), less one-off custom parts, etc. Or maybe get an AK.
  9. Did I mention I once ripped off the big toenail off my wife's foot while breaking the toe at the same time? The toenail ended up standing straight up and there was blood everywhere.
  10. I'll encourage my 17yo to shoot it. HAHA
  11. A buddy used this concept and used a treadmill to power the entire doohicky. He loads .50 BMG's for sale so needs the volume....
  12. I've got a direct line to CMMG products and received the same info since we're an authorized CMMG dealer. PM me if you want one when they come up. P.S. Were you aware that by participating in this forum and posting this topic, you've now invoked rule 68b ? P.P.S. Looks like they are available for orders (all 3 sub-variants of the MK47)
  13. Welcome from AZ!
  14. That's why I found it a little odd. The rust did clean up nicely with some steel wool, but I keep wondering if the material is some sub-par crap instead of what it is on the specs.
  15. Methinks there's something not right with the upper. Probably crushed a little bit, enough to cause the bolt carrier to stick.

Who is this "they" you speak of... ?
  17. Is Aus-8 steel supposed to rust? <dontknow> Left my blade out in the back porch for a week after working on some crap and my kid brings it to me today and it looks like rust spots have formed on the supposedly AUS-8 stainless steel blade....
  18. You gotta ask yourself - is the sight going to be a backup sight or will you be using it as a primary sight. If it is a backup, a fold-down type will work nicely. Of course there is a miniscule amount of slop if it's a fold down type but it's not so much to worry about. Clamp on gas blocks are fine but I persoally recommend setscrew style gas blocks. As for pinned gas blocks, I'd stay away from them if you're going with aftermarket parts since they are a PITA to work on.
  19. Next - you need to get a 300 BLK.
  20. F/A has saved me a handful of times though. Most recent was a jammed BCG caused by a loose primer. I managed to push the bolt forward with the F/A and the primer fell out.
  21. Why soup up a go-kart engine when you can soup up a rocket engine and make the sabot hit 4000+ fps? ...308 sabot would be f*ing awesome. Like this guy from SSA
  22. Oh yeah, they're 55 gal. :D
  23. Or...if you get really lucky and find one of these out-of-production Bushmaster BMAS front sights designed to specifically clamp over the butchered gas block on the Bushmaster ORC. I believe YHM made these for bushmaster. P/N YHM-9360K Oh wait.... OP already mentioned this. My bad for falling into the TL:DR trap.
  24. Wat? No gasblock rail? I thought them all them ORC's came with a gasblock rail..... (shhhh don't tell him it's an airsoft sight, but they do work nonetheless)
