Welcome to the forum! I think the issue is the non-standardization of parts for the .308 platform. The MOE is designed around the AR-15 so I would expect stuff not to fit correctly.

Pressures on both work out to be the same. 60,191psi (CIP) for the 7.62 NATO vs 60,191psi (CIP)/ 62,000 PSI (SAAMI) for the .308. Same pressure, different measurement methodology. CIP requires all the chamberings to be proof-tested to 125% of their rated capacity - hence the CIP standard proof figure is 75,275psi. Compatibility comes from the very slight differences between the NATO and .308 spec chambers.

I believe it is the other way around.... if the barrel is chambered for 7.62 NATO, firing .308 Win in it is safe. Some manufacturers like CMMG mark their barrels .308 but say that the 7.62 NATO is fine to shoot.

Trade the 2022? Hell no.

I keep wondering where the tiny brass bits come from in my .308... I never recall seeing it happen that much on the FN-MAG considering that thing rips through a 250-round 7.62 belt in 20-30 seconds....

Loaded up 40 rounds of Hornady 168gr BTHP with 42.0g of RE-15. Some with F210 primers, some with Rem 9.5 primers. Going to see how these do soon.

Stick with a pistol gas system. More reliable for the 300 AAC. Save up for the 308 later. :D
