  1. PWS FSC eh? hmmmm ... should look into that.
  2. There's always Spike's Dynacomp - $100+ less than the BABC with the same performance. I have a cheapie $30 cooley-style brake on my 308 and it works well. Been dragging my ass in making my own comp. On the 300AAC, I'm using this guy for around $35: Yes, I'm a cheap ass, but they work as advertised. :D
  3. Welcome from AZ!!
  4. Interesting & plausible idea of what could have happened. MH370 followed flight SQ68 closely, hiding in the radar shadow over India/Pakistan. http://keithledgerwood.tumblr.com/post/79838944823/did-malaysian-airlines-370-disappear-using-sia68-sq68
  5. Hmmm... my wife hasn't made her Corned Beef in a long time. I oughtta go prod her to make some.
  6. Perhaps the bullet gets rammed in when the bolt slams shut. Using 208gr projo's with about 10.6-11gr of AA1680. It's a really fine powder so it does settle down more compactly.
  7. Loaded up the .223/5.56 cases I had lying around. Experimenting with NATO loads; 102 rounds of 75gr match and 39 rounds of V-Max 55gr. Question - how many times do you guys recycle your brass? Some of my .308 casings are up to 4 shootings already, and I trimmed/annealed that batch.
  8. I got a Hornady book and have shot 168gr A-Max and found that the loads were a little on the hot side (one load down from the max load).
  9. Guitars? That's yet another disease!
  10. Reloaded 100 rounds of subsonic 300 BLK. 208gr Hornady A-Max driven by 11.3gr of AA1680 using CCI primer. Loaded it a little bit on the hot side (still way below max published load) to ensure reliable cycling. Let see if we get any transonic bullet instability issues.
  11. The 7.62 PMAG 20LR/SR is starting to show up too... picked up 7 in the last week.
  12. Liquid Web is pretty good. The server I got is a leased server out somewhere in the east cost and I stuck web hosting software on top of it. Lots of CPU/RAM to spare.
  13. Last night: Loaded 50 rounds of 308 with Barnes TTSX-BT (165gr) and Varget, and loaded 29 rounds 175gr Hornady HPBT. Cleaned and prepped 300BLK brass. Later tonight: Load up subsonic 300 BLK rounds.
  14. If ever you need another host, let me know. I have my own hosting server that I use for my biz, personal projects, as well as other clients, most of them friends so I end up not charging them at all.
  15. Here's some great deals on returned TRS-25's from Amazon. I've bought returns from amazon and never had any issues with them. Most of the items you can't tell the difference between used and new. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00200E0HM/sr=/qid=/ref=olp_prime_all?ie=UTF8&colid=&coliid=&condition=all&me=&qid=&seller=&shipPromoFilter=1&sort=sip&sr=
  16. That's awesome QC. Kinda scary.
  17. No, that's on my 5.56. It's the beater that I toss and kick around but the zero never shifts, even after I take it off and put it on again (the UTG is a QD/tactical type riser that comes off without tools). My 308 has the 6-24x50 Vortex PST FFP MRAD + the Burris Fastfire III. If you're looking at a REALLY GOOD VALUE check this one out. $250ish for a reputable brand illuminated FFP scope is unheard of. I've got it installed on my 300 AAC. 1-4x is a good magnification range for a CQB-mid range scope. At 1x it acts like an RDS with a horseshoe reticle. Zoom to 4X and the reticle zooms along with it to show the bullet drop marks. I'd buy a cheapie RDS for now and then save up for good glass later.
  18. Hands down, Bushnell TRS-25. Excellent value, well built, works very well. I got two myself. FYI TRS-25 + UTG Medium (0.83") Riser = Absolute Co-witness TRS-25 + UTG High (1") Riser = Lower 1/3 Co-witness I got a Burris Fastfire III mini reflex sight piggybacked on my Vortex scope tube on the 308.
  19. I did 41.7gr of Varget with 168gr A-MAX, straight out of the Hornady book (standard 308 Win) and my primers showed some cratering. I backed it off a little bit, down to 41.2gr and gonna see if that improves this weekend.
  20. been following F1 since 89.......even at 4am, i get up to watch the races,
  21. Hey, I should have an MFT Battlelink stock in FDE coming in. I don't need it since I picked up a UBR stock too. Interested?
  22. Greetings from AZ!
  23. Something doesn't smell right in this whole thing.....
  24. ^^^ that pretty much sums it up. I spoke to my next door neighbor recently about guns and he mentioned that he'd pick up a Colt vs any other brand of AR rifle just because "they make the best ones". Most of the average shooters just gravitate to the name brands out there. Remington, Colt, Armalite, S&W, maybe DPMS... few consider Spike's, CMMG, etc, and very much less the boutique brands like POF, LaRue & KAC. The average shooter balks at spending $2+k on an AR (even if they have the disposable funds), and most are not aware of the differences.
