  1. Sounds like you are putting some nice parts together there. Why not go with a higher end barrel in case you have the opportunity to stretch you legs a bit? Criterion, Lothar Walther, Rainier, - or even JP or Kreiger if you want to be a little more spendy.
  2. Let us know what you find! On TTAG test the Miculeck was #6, and Supercomp #38. I look forward to hearing if you feel a difference:
  3. From TTAG: " Jeremy S says:November 9, 2015 at 17:59There’s a 5.56 test #3 coming up soon and a .308 test coming up very shortly thereafter (both will be published this December). Since many of the muzzle devices that are available for 5.56 and .308 (or .30 cal in general) are also available with AK-pattern threads (e.g. PA’s M4-72), I’m thinking there’s probably so much cross-over that it may not really be worth doing a separate AK-47 test. Seems like most of the muzzle devices that are AK-platform-specific aren’t really concentrating on recoil reduction anyway, or at least I don’t see any of the traditional-style AK things being real recoil reduction competition for what’s been developed for the AR platform for competition and tacticool use. I’ll try to get in touch with Spike’s. I haven’t been successful in the past. The budget for buying brakes isn’t that big, and there are quite a few with higher “priority” (based mostly on requests) to buy before the $110+ Dynacomp 2… Ideally a 2nd flash hiding test will be published before year end as well…"
  4. I have a GoGun SuperComp on my AR15. It's "OK", reduces recoil, jumps a little up and to the left (probably due to rifling spin), and is fairly loud, but not as bad as some others. If I had to replace it, I'd go with the Precision Arms M472 for sure. TTAG part III muzzle brake test is due out by the end of this month or next month.
  5. Two 5-shot groups at 50 yards. Zero magnification, using the Bushnell TRS-25. Shooting American Eagle 55gr., .223 Wylde Chamber, 1:8 twist. (The flyer in the orange dot was off-hand)
  6. Polymer lower, AR Performance pencil barrel, Strike Industries lightweight Handguard, Ares NiB BCG, a little over 6lbs loaded
  7. Good to hear!
  8. I go this one on sale for $25. No idea if it will work. http://www.primaryarms.com/Radical_Firearms_Low_Profile_Adjustable_Gas_Block_p/rf-adj-.750.htm I've too heard good things about Syrac and SLR

  10. How hot does it get compared to other materials? I know titanium, while quite light and strong, can really conduct a lot of heat. Thanks
  11. First time I've seen that. I'm only typing this after heaving and loosing my breath from laughing so hard.
  12. Looks good

    KAK BCG

Interesting. I think it's made by LMT, or at least similar in design at 1/2 the price. http://www.ar15news.com/2015/09/14/testing-kak-industry-308-nitride-bcg-dual-ejectors/
  14. Are those barrels NItrided? I tried to call Ares, but could never get through.
  15. Here's the wrap up: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/08/21/muzzle-brake-summary-of-field-test-results/ The JEC design seems quite interesting across the board. MuzzleBrakesandMore.com / Ross Schuler has a seemingly identical for $45. Just waiting for TTAG Muzzle Brake Shootout III...
  16. Is there no way now to find the list previously entitled "My Content", or us that now simply "Content", or "My Activity"? I'm just looking for a way to find new replies to threads I started or was following. Thanks

  18. LOL! It looks promising, especially the minimal moving parts aspect to the design. Here's another that caught my eye as well (especially if running suppressed): http://armageddontactical.com/products/gms-10-gen-ii-charging-handle

  20. If you haven't already seen it, sound testing: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/08/07/muzzle-brakes-sound-test/
  21. Survivalshop, great explanation. Just to clarify, will an Armalite EC0120 AR10 Carbine H3 Buffer (5.4oz.) fit in #3 above? Is the Vltor A5 or UTG Pro 6 position .308 carbine receiver extension tube the same as the Armalite one yo mention in #3 above?
  22. Baffles look pretty small (not much area pointed upwards), and you can't see if they are angled rearward. Those seem to be some of the characteristics that the top performing brakes had
  23. Not to stay on a tangent, but what's the make & specs of your new 18" barrel?
  24. Agreed! I 'm thinking the thing for my "OBR on a Budget" build
  25. Nope, he didn't. Perhaps we can make our top 10 list based on both groups of data, and you can test them on a .308AR for us! ;-)
