  1. Tom, that is an absolutely sweet shooter, and it makes my sling look great! I hope that over a lifetime it accrues far more value than the cost of the sling.
  2. Just got home! Man... I am done with driving for a little while... Ill get some pics up soon. :-D I had a blast! I think we need a 308ar mens retreat... something more like a full weekend, up in the middle of nowhere... LOL
  3. What a great time! I hope to get some photos and videos up. It was an incredible experience to put a face with some of your names, and a privilege to launch lead with yall. I have to apologize to planeflyer, I have been going to ranges with no supervision for so long that i forgot a lot of my range etiquette. I hope to be able to meet up and shoot again! I am glad that we got a (partial) group picture!
  4. It will he about 10 for us as well. We planned 9... but what can I say, I am newly wed and motivating the wife for the range is still difficult.
  5. Ill be there around 9! See yall soon!
  6. I am up for some obstacles! And some criticism as well lol Is there anything to staple some silhouette targets to?
  7. What time do we want to meet? Ill be bringing all of the slings that i have on hand to sell for $30 if anyone is interested. I also found out that i might have to give a period of instruction on the slings if anyone is interested.
  8. We were surprised by the rain yesterday! But looking out today, it looks pretty dry. I am going to visit some of tucsons gun shops ttoday, and do some rabbit hunting, then I am going to a special event tombstone is having tomorrow, so ill keep you up to date on how wet the dirt is if you like.
  9. It might be as warm as 58 degrees!
  10. Haha, if my cell phone keeps it up, I might have to break that rule... but if I do absolutely have to shoot it, ill make sure to pick up the debris. I wont bring my computer to the range... too much temptation ;-)
  11. I use a hand press. There is a definite difference between the WWB and the zq1
  12. I have reloaded the brass twice, but i am about as scientific as a rock. What I can say is that the primer pockets seat very nicely and consistently, much better than Winchester white box. The primer seems to click twice and be set, whereas the WWB never gives any feel. I have crushed a few primers in WWB when I first reload them after awhile because I forget that I have nothing to feel for when they are set properly.
  13. This is going to be incredible!
  14. Haha nice :-) I am itching to launch some lead! So how many people do we have planning to attend at this point?
  15. Haha I think to fix the mustache ripper I might go to a one piece rifle length stock like the ace. But until then... it will stay duct taped lol Survival shop, that is a sweet build! I like it :-)
  16. I liked the idea of 460 for that very reason. I ended up with a Blackhawk convertible that shot 45acp without moon clips, and 45lc, but I got bored of it, and it helped fund some of my ar projects lol
  17. I was going to bring up the 460 Rowland! Although I am aware that is it still a 45. I am currently worried about overpenetration from my edc. I think that it is an important thing to consider. If I was not... well then, I would edc the Rowland. I have been looking at the conversion for quite awhile...
  18. This "device" we are talking about has me very excited lol
  19. Yup, game on, Sunday the 28th!!! The specifics will have to be put out by the people who know the range or are running it.
  20. Thats why I love 22 (when I can find it...) A mag for everyone! Lol Or more if your feeling wild. Haha I usually cant plink with big boy calibers, but I saved up for this trip :-D
  21. I couldn't finish the video... so pathetic :/
  22. There are things that I like about the mutant concept, and things that i dont... My dad has a colt upper in 7.62/39 that he is trying to sell. I guess the ar 7.62/39 mags are hit or miss... I honesty dont personally know. But if cmmg was going to make this rifle in this price range, I would not expect a "carbine length" gas tube. I would either expect it to be a custom length perfect for the cartridge, a mid length, or at this price range, piston operated. There are two reasons that i like 7.62/39 over 300 blk. One is availability, two is cost. For this reason, I do see more American manufactures picking it up. But the cmmg kinda seems like it is a few straws short of a bale.
  23. I was thinking the same thing! Lol
  24. I am odd, in that since the first time cleaning a firearm in basic training... I HATE CLP. Clean, lubricate, protect!? All in one?! The stuff does work, I just dont feel it works well enough... for me... so as soon as I could in basic, I snuck off and purchased some hoppes #9 My cleaning kit will consist of hoppes #9, Lucas gun oil (use w/e here), dental picks (careful around aluminum!), pipe cleaners, q tips, and BORE SNAKES! I love bore snakes. Everyone made fun of me for my xl ifak size weapons cleaning kit... until they were all borrowing it. (I hate small kits, they dont do it for me) Without too much detail, everything on the gun gets at LEAST 3 go overs. (3-1,000). First I use solvent. Once everything is clean, dry everything, then I lubricate. I dont like the idea of my lubricant cleaning... sounds like extra work and dangerous residue. So there you go.
