  2. Thats the plan brother! Im pretty tempted to go out and try that ISIS shitter mod stance and see what kind of looks I get from people!!! Hahahah
  3. PIcked this little number up from a buddy of mine for $350 w/ 3 mags and 200rds. I really don't know a whole lot about AK's in general, this being my first one. Here's what I do know: It's a Romanian "Bargain-Basement" WASR - complete with the dreaded canted front sight. Not terrible, it can still be zeroe'd but you can tell it's off a little bit. I understand this can be fixed with a little effort and a BFH! It's had a trigger job done but it's not the Tapco G2, just taken down and a good polish - it's actually pretty decent. Furniture was cleaned up on it. Yes it has the mag wobble, but it fits a double stack and it's not terrible - it's an AK, whaddya want? It's not the 10/63, just has WASR-10 engraved so it's probably a little older but its a numbers matching gun so that's a plus. Target crown barrel - no threads, probably a post-ban gun? Like I said I'm not really an AK guy so I don't know a ton about them, but they've always been a curiosity for me so i figured, meh, what the hell, it'll be a cheap plinker until .22LR comes back around and it seemed like a fair price to me plus I'm helping a buddy out who needed a little extra cash.
  4. I always thought the old CRTs were supposed to be the cat's ass because of the infinite black levels vs. the digital single guns. (Like one of those old Sony 9"-ers) BTW, I have an Epson 8350 that is 2000 lumens and that thing is a light cannon - as in watch the game in broad daylight bright. I'm thinking for the OPs application, anything over 800 lumens will be plenty
  5. I don't see how you can beat this thing for the money. Not to mention as edge mentioned you've got Armalite standing behind it if there are any problems with it.
  6. He's getting there for sure. Some of the stuff I'll hear him doing on his acoustic really takes me by surprise. He's always been VERY musically inclined. Only took him about a year and a half or so to make me look stupid playing drums and I've been doing that since I was 7. He's 70% of where I am at guitar-wise and he's only been at that for 6 months. It's all he does though is go practice every free minute of every last day. If he didn't have school, sports, and chores I'm sure he'd spend 8 hours a day nonstop in his room playing.
  7. Welcome from AZ brother. I love this platform but the trouble is there is not .mil spec unlike its little brother so there is no guarantee everything is plug and play. But this is the right place to get it all sorted out for sure and a great crew here too. Having just finished my first .308 build with this platform, all I can say is research research research, and when you think you've done enough research.... you need to triple your effort... Getting it right the first time is a satisfying feeling for sure and just about anything you want to know is buried somewhere in this board. <thumbsup>
  8. Im good with it either way. Shibi has some big boy toys and I do it more or less as a hobby. Im sure he can build a much better toolpath than I can. Shibi, if you want to gin up some code for me Im game. Keep my feeds and speeds around 100ipm and steps at around .100" and back the stepover off to .05 for finish surfacing sound about right? I'll probably do most of it with a 1/4" ball mill. And 1/4" flat end mill for the holes and final cut out? Maybe a couple of thin tabs left over that I can clean up by hand? Mach 3 post is preferrable :)
  9. Haha, that's the same boat I'm in bro. Plus I'm just being lazy. I could hop on GrabCAD and find them easy enough. ;)
  10. I'll see what I can do for you fellas. ;) P.S. If anyone has the G-code for those in Mach 3 or FANUC format it would save me some trouble (nod nod wink wink). Must be for a 3 axis mill.
  11. Took my son to Woodworkers Source to pick out the wood. This was what he chose. I think its gonna look pretty sweet.
  12. They'll race anything!
  13. I did my part.. I early-adopted the Aero Precision M5 stuff. (Which is GTG BTW) ;)
  14. Right!? Isnt that a pretty wood? Thats the natural coloring too.. just lacquered, no stain.
  15. Nothing against the Duncans, they are definately some of the best but I still get a builder's discount through Tesla which I can't say how much publicly, but its pretty significant. If youve never heard of them, they are a boutique company that caters to the custom crowd. You should check them out. They have lots of sound clips on their page and every set Ive ever gotten from them has been amazing. Id stack their Plasma 7s up against a set of JB Hotrods every day of the week. ;)
  16. Hoping it will be a good one. Im taking the kid to Woodworkers Source in Tucson tomorrow to pick out the wood. They just got a shipment in of Black Limba which is a pretty rare and sought after tonewood. It also looks amazing. Should turn out something like this when we get done.
  17. Damn man... The more than thing gets posted around here.. the closer I get to buying it just on principal. MUST......RESIST.... !!
  18. Luminoks! Best thing since sliced bread! And yes... that was impressive!
  19. That is one sweet .308 you've got going there. How is that scope holding up for you? Everything holding together OK? Seeing as how you have one and I'm officially on the clock for invoking "The Rule", (which I did intentionally) I'm interested to know know everything you care to share. Thanks brother! <thumbsup> -Adam
  20. God DANG!!! I just now watched that video from the first person view... I like to ride and I like courses and things but I would so eat sh!t trying to do that! Those guys are insane! Speaking of crazy fuckers on 2 wheels.... Isle of Man <thumbsup> if you catch yourself leaning into the corners.
  21. Yup.. Set astraddle my brother inlaw's KX500 after he had put a power pipe on it and went up two teeth in the rear. Pulled wheel stands in top gear like it was nothing and pretty sure it was quicker than the ZX636R I used to own... Rode it once and after that decided I wouldn't get out of the electric chair to ride it again!! He sold it after having it six months to a guy who 'claimed' to be an experienced rider - less than a week later that guy wound up in the hospital.
  22. Just based on a quick ebay search, Depending on the condition it could go for anywhere from 4-10K. Even the modern re-issues go for 3K-ish. FWIW, I'll just leave this right here.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1959-Gibson-ES-335-Vintage-Sunburst-PAFs-55-HD-Images-Scroll-Down-/161421292688 Edit: Here is some info you might find useful in grading how desirable your particular guitar is. http://home.provide.net/~cfh/es335.html
  23. Man.. I'm sorry it didn't work out. PSA needs to get their poop in a group with this one... I don't think I've read of one build on here involving PSA (of the 3 or so total that is) that hasn't been somehow problematic. Maybe it's better with a matching set as Shib says. IDK... Don't think I'd be first in line to grab a set after the stuff I've read so far.
  24. BWAAHAAHHAHAHA!!!!!! BUSTED!!!!!! <laughs> <lmao> :leghump: <hump> :laughing4:
