Ares Armor Has Been Sold!!!
slugger43 replied to suzukiray's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
So as I understand it, the previous guy still has a 30% stake in the company? I think I'm stuck at "wait and see". Suspicious makes a helluva lot of sense to me. -

Aha! Here's more info. All I got was the basic announcement, nothing else, forwarded. I feel a little better. http://aresarmor.com/store/NewsArticle/Ares_Armor_Acquired?utm_content=nat%40natpalmer.com&utm_source=VerticalResponse&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Full%20details%20can%20be%20read%20here%2E%2E%2E%2E&utm_campaign=Ares%20Armor%20Acquired%20by%20Lake%20House%20Capital%20Managementcontent -
Ares Armor Has Been Sold!!!

I'm kind of into "wait and see" mode. Why would you sale price the goodies if you are planning to stay in business? Thought that notice was kind of poorly worded and short on info. Hope anybody with info on this will post it here asap. The phrase "bought the assets of" is a little disconcerting, me being a skeptic, and all...... -
We likely don't need any ammo. I see Jerk-Off Kerry has announced that in spite of ISIS, the disintegration of the middle east, etc. etc., that we are much safer than we have been for decades. Presidenty PissAnt has apparently got that lap dog well trained. My God I feel better!!! Azzhole!! Here in the blue state of Washington, our Senator Putty Murky and Senator Cant-do-Well, not to mention most of our congressmen don't know one kind of weapon from another, and are basically against anything where a bullet might exit the barrel. I write to these morons with zero effect, but I do write to them. I will not give in to their crap. And three cheers to all of you who are raising another generation of patriots. So am I. So must we all if the Republic is to survive.

Well, I've heard you can just bypass the marriage thing altogether. Find somebody you hate and give them half of your schitt.

OK, I snuck in with an AR-10 order at 1615 hours, so likely on the tail end of this group by, but I couldn't hold out.... Looks like a fun thing. Thanks Magwa for setting this one up! Also picked up a charging handle. Got the disease.......

Nope, she bought it for me. I keep a few wish lists around. Birthday today. It was a 308 barrel extension wrench, Magpul stock, DPMS buffer, tube and spring, all for my current ghost build. Also got some Pmags from my son in another package. Nice family, I'm thinkin'

52 years ago I married the most amazing lady on the planet. She's still crazy about me. Many people said we were getting married too damn young, and it wouldn't last.. Everybody who said that is either dead or divorced. Three kids, six grandkids, gun safe full of guns. Life's pretty much OK. Still love the lady. My-oh-my.

Burriss MTAC 4.5-14x42...Any thoughts?
slugger43 replied to 912dawg's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
I'm building kind of a general purpose 308, also considering scopes, and I've been very much attracted to the same Burris you are looking at. I'll be waiting for your review on this one. -
Got a package from Brownell's, but my wife won't let me open it until my birthday......about 5.5 lbs. Can't wait.

What the hell, you gotta wear about SPF 12 if they shine that bllitch on you, right? NICE!
-
I never would ask my wife to bike over 34.7 miles......while she's pregnant.....so if the vehicle can last a couple of months or so..... I'm just sayin'...... Enablers, hell. You need a stronger word...like maybe habituators, or addicticators. Yuk! >:D

Trijicon 40% off to post 9/11 military
slugger43 replied to LeatherNuts's topic in Sales and Coupons
Man, I have used that one. You will fall in love all over again with that one. Best thing I've ever peeked through for seeing both the target and the surrounding area. Simply amazing. Wish I could afford one. -
Anyone who would actually act as the fun police on either of those should have tannerite stuffed up their.................nose....or something. The wonder of this kind of thing is the friggin' fun we all get to have looking at it, even if we couldn't be there. Good on ya, internet!

I like these little books. You buy them by caliber, and they tend to have info on a specific caliber from various powder and bullet manufactures. I use Lee and Sierra books, plus these: http://www.loadbooks.com/

Oh yeah, and that first rifle was a T-C "Hotshot". Neat little super safe single shot.
-
Lots of good points there. Kid is more important than the kids age. My son let me participate in my grandson's first "real" rifle. He had used all of the toys, and when he asked for a real rifle, we got him a 22 single shot. Age almost 8. Lots of technical and mechanical training, and a ton of safety instruction. First range trip, the little guy says, "how much are we going to shoot today?" My son said, "It's your rifle, your day at the range. If you want to shoot two rounds and go home, OK. If you want to shoot until dark, we'll do that." Had to pry the little rascal off the range. He loved it. Made this old dude smile. But it was HIS choice.

That's too much bacon!!!!! said nobody....ever. And by the way, if God didn't want us to eat the pigs and chickens, (and deer and fish and elk.) why the hell did He make them out of MEAT?

Are you certain that girlfriend pic ain't just the original humanoid after the sex change operation?
-
I've got the MNP 40 and lovin' it a bunch. Slicker-n dog snot. Excuse my ignorance, but what's with the 10 days?
-
I like my Peltors also, owned 'em over six years. Kind of inconvenient to change the batteries, but price is right, and they apparently last. Protects me old ear holes just fine, thanks.

Why looking at TSA locks for your gun case? Per previous comments and TSA info, as I understand it, you cannot have your case accessible if you have a firearm in the case. Ergo, no TSA locks. I believe you have to declare the firearms, have the case inspected on check-in, lock the case, and take the keys with you. Here's some TSA info: http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/firearms-and-ammunition Am I wrong?
