And I think there's some guy on here who could possibly teach you how to live in a refrigerator for a little while.... At least I've heard that. And you wouldn't have R2 coon-fingering your tools. Congrats on having your own home! Hope your closing goes smooth as silk and that you can celebrate Christmas in your new digs. Happy for ya!

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
slugger43 replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Got a couple of Prion flashlights that were on clearance with free shipping from FourSevens. P1 and P2. These are pretty cool, very bright and compact, got 'em laying around all over the place. http://www.foursevens.com/light-finder/search/clearance -
So, if they are going to treat them like firearms, any chance some innovative manufacturer will develop an 80% suppressor? Hahahahahaha!

Thanks. I've used E-Z outs, just never seen a set quite like these. Problem is, when you need 'em, you need 'em. And, trust me on this, I can positively guaranty that I have, in fact, fuked up. Busted drills drilling stuff out, busted E-Z outs, etc. Always looking to get an edge on the evil chink hardware.

And where, good sir, might one locate these little hookers? Looks like another super tool I have never heard of. Oughta have an ongoing thread about super tools other people know about that are unknown to me. Never seen anything like these.

Good tip! Thanks. I've also run into the cheap China screw syndrome. Pain in the azz. Seems like even some otherwise good manufacturers forget about quality when they go shopping for screws to include with their products.

Yeah, sure you are! So, "Gary".....how come you don't appear to have any one-dollar bills in your wallet? Huh, "Gary"? Okay now those are a couple of funnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee jack-o(ff)-lanterns. lmao big time!

Well, that comment is absolute bullschitt. But hey, everybody gets an opinion. I'm a broker, so I may be prejudiced. You're not, so may not know what the hell you're talking about. No, I'm not offended, and why the hell should you care if I am? You shouldn't. The occasional bad ass doesn't represent the industry. Sorry if you or your family got honked by one of the bad apples. That said, a competent, licensed inspector is a must, regardless of the apparent condition of the property. Most states license inspectors. Also agents. Deal with an experience Realtor who can give you several references of happy BUYER clients. They should be able to give you the names of at least 3 to talk to. Get references from the inspectors, and realize they are not infallible. They typically are not allowed to remove siding, roofing, other surfaces, and can't see anything under the surface. However, they should be using scopes, moisture meters, electrical testers etc. if they are competent and thorough. This house is apparently going to be part of a "short sale". That means the place is not worth what is owed on it. There will be an offer - you or someone else - and that offer will likely be less than the mortgage balance, and the sale will have to be approved by the lender, who is essentially going to agree to take less than they are owed. After the bubble broke, there were a bunch of these, and there still are. I warn you, negotiations may be extended, but it may be well worth the effort, so plan on being patient. Yes, there is some risk on a foreclosed property, as numerous people have stated. However there are clues to good news here: First, the lender and the owner have obviously been negotiating. It is extremely unlikely that would be true if the previous owners had sabotaged the place. It looks like they are just another victim of the big crash, and are making a legitimate effort to work out of it with the least pain to everyone involved. Probaby just good people who hit a rough patch. One last piece of insurance, use an agent other than the listing agent. It's usually legal to represent both parties in a transaction, but it's a balancing act, and you want your agent representing YOU not the other guy. Find a good agent with a good company, who is local not out of town, and grill the hell out of them. Zillow ain't a bad starting point, and I use them as one of my sales tools. Their estimates of value are just that - estimates. BTW, the statment that other raised ramblers (what we call split entries around here) are selling for more is a BS comment. All home of the same style do not sell for the same price. Silly comment. Good luck! Hope you find a great home at a super price, remodel it to your ultimate satisfaction, and have the whole clan over for Thanksgiving....in 2016, after you finish the remodel. Slug, the evil real estate broker. PS Then have Blue109 over and show him what a great deal you got........... LMAO.

Same thing here. Have tried IE and Chrome - no luck. Working on my laptop, not the mobile app.

Gotta not underestimate those "old" men. He's not all that old....only 75. And he's apparently still fairly lethal. I hope all the "old" guys in prison make a habit of beating the schit out of this little creep on a regular basis. Go old guys!

Me too. Barf! So then, these ghosts can be illegally transferred without a background check? Really? As can any firearm! They would be soooo much safer if they had a serial number. Well, I'm disappointed in me! Just compared my 308 "Ghost" to my other AR's of various caliber, and for the life of me, I can't see where it looks any more "dangerous". What am I doing wrong? Think maybe I will pick up another 80% or two or three to add to my pile.

Aha! But I do have one! And it is click-adjustable, adjusts from the front, comes with a long allen wrench if your hand guard extends out past the gas block. My rifle is recently completed, still in the break-in, sighting-in stage, so have not actually used the adjustment. Had a Seekins and dumped it for this one during the build, because I found out that one adjusted from the back - yes, really dumb. Guy at Mega who did some work on my rifle liked the Syrac gas block.

Stuff that needs fixed and bug reports
slugger43 replied to imschur's topic in Site News and Support
Yeah, planeflyer had a great post there, and I had to PM him to comment. That was good info, and would have generated some serious discussion. Hope this gets fixed so that gets adequate coverage. -
Uh, I think the fun and games come to an end just a few minutes before the EMTs show up......

Sorry for your loss R2. Toast to a man who made a positive difference in our world. RIP

The reporter was doing OK up to the last sentence, where she said that the man "who was shot" was taken to the hospital. He wasn't shot. The guy in the reporting says the film show that the victim's gun was down and he was just reloading a magazine. 392 is dead on: it ain't no shooting. Might be a freak accident. I suspect he could have been hit by small fragments as the case shattered. Not bullet fragments. Bullet fragments would seem to defy the laws of physics. Gotta see the film. Obviously not serious if he walked over to a range officer.

Next go-round I'm lookin' at 90. And you thought I was a grumpy old basstard now..........just wait! Plan to still be building and shooting, so look out!

Fun-nee! Hysterical! A riot! As Winston Churchill once said: "If that's not true, it should be, and more and better besides."

Last SF gun shop closing
slugger43 replied to survivalshop's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
There you go, assuming they are able to think. I'm with you. I can think of no circumstances where any of this would make sense. Any truth to the rumor that the city fathers are considering a law requiring one-round magazines? -
Your Can Cannon is now an SBR

Hey Sketch, this oughta put a wrinkle in your Seahawks flag......it's worse than that. Do ya think Seattle will apply their ammo tax to your can supply? Go Hawks! -

Can you imagine how much safer I feel now that there is a formal determination on this dangerous can-launching, smooth-bore, blank-using, looks like a fun thing to play with device by our heroes at BATFE? So glad my government took care of another serious problem. Nice prioritization of tax expenditures, you assholez!
