Yep That happened to my brother and me several years ago. We only had 320 acres of brush land .We leased it for hunting from Aug 1st for a full year down at Richland Springs. had it for six or seven years. We usually went down on Fridays during deer season but once went down on Thursday, caught the lock off the gate and found 4 day hunters. Went to talk to the land owner. He apologized. But the next year wanted 3 times the amount. Said he had some doctor that wanted to lease,he said "You probably need to move yourTravel trailers out next month." We had three feeders several stands and had an old ranch house we fixed the doors and cleaned the chimney & fireplace so we could cook and play cards inside in bad weather. We hauled our stuff off. The second day of deer season the new lessees burned the ranch house and about 100 acres of pasture. We told the land owner he may not of had such a good deal.

I have an old Ithaca model 37 12 gauge that was my bird gun since 1967 when my wife bought it for me as a Christmas present. It has a long full choke barrel. I would like to get a mag extension for the Ithaca. Anyone know where there may be one for sale?

Good shot, you never know for sure, since typed words are without emotion, or inflection of character.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

I also have been disappointed by some of my orders from Amazon.com. I order items not available in Walmarts, Staples or Tractor supply or a local gun store. A .223 chamber boresighter was really cheap ($8.00) and I figure if it lasts for 2 or 3 boresighting jobs it is okay. there was one for $22.00 as a PRIME buy, two day shipping. I ordered the el cheapo one and in the fine print I saw it was over 15 days shipping, from Hong Kong. I since have been ordering PRIME items for free 2 day shipping. My wife ordered a Kindle Fire tablet and got Prime free for six months so that is working out okay. I luck out a lot since Amazon has a big distrubition center in DFW metroplex. I ordered an electric shop heater at a good price free 2 day shipping and it was here in 2 days. Since we live 40 miles from a Walmart in either direction it costs more to drive there than shipping costs, and it is delivered at the front gate. -
Really, I think the one in the picture is neat and cool! I would be proud of it if it was mine too.

Does this mean the front of the hole for the gas tube is tapped and threaded for the gas adjustment screw. for a neater job?

AMEN WASH GUY, all they wanted to talk about was their junky old guns and how macho they are. Maybe we can get some action somewhere else,, maybe a little closer to GOD's Country. APRIL FOOLS DUMMY!!!!!

The slur at non locals is not typical of all landowners, many of us that are considered milita cowboy type and so called outsiders are any one that isn't a 4th or 5th generation land owner, or a doctor from big D or Houston. They don't look back at some trio of doctor trophy hunters from Dallas or Fort Worth that will pay a couple of thousand to "Lease" 80 acres for a deer season, Then they will lease it to some other money folks for $100 / day to day hunt. Guess who are the ones that shoot old bossey with a sound shot from their .243 custom built Japanese B.A. beauty.

We have a big ferrel hog population here lots of pecan orchards watermelons, peanuts and coastal Bermuda hay fields and lotsf of good bottom land cover. I was using a Mimi 14 good short range gun and also a 3006 Garand M1. The land owners don't like gun nuts and milita cowboys with black tactical rifles with 30 round mags from the city on their property. I figured a AR308 would be better all-around deer & hogs and to keep the wolf from the front door. The big deals now are hog hunting from a helicopter. Buy into a half day hunt isn't too bad. We have several locals that hunt with dogs. Land owner like dog hunters.

Welcome from Comanche County Texas. We spend time in Temple and Killeen.

Besides that they are eating all of our skunks, bunnies and flowers, not to mention that they devour our poor defenseless trees, shrubs and rose bushes! Kill a deer and save a flower!

Thanks for the good info. -
Yep it is a texas thing My Doctor is a CONCEALED HAND GUN dude I think he carries that nitrogen gun thingie in his skivies. His scalpel looks kinda like a modified K-bar. He was a Marine A6 pilot flying off a carrier in Vietnam. We get along like Cannon cockers and zoomies usually do.
-
Been there done that the pill roller always sneaks up with a grin on his face and squirts that damn liquid nitrogen and waits for the scream SHHIITTTFFIRE DOC! then the sadistic bastard gives me another squirt. About when the liquid nitrogen starts to ease the lidocaine wears out from the cutting and stitches. He says...."go home and drink a gallon of margaritas, and get some rest"

If I had a solvent trap I would set up the long gun cleaning equipment and see if a solvent trap would capture all the contaminated Hoppes#9 from getting on my shop floor. I do have a couple of problems. I need adaptors for my long guns that aren't threaded 5/8 or 1/2 inch heck do they make an adapter for a Winchester 94 30 30 or a Remington 12 ga modified vent rib?

Anyone have or use one of these? Any info appreciated. Granite Classic America’s Bench Top Machine Shop Workhorse 110V 1.5 HP I sold my big stuff a many years ago. My small lathe, a drill press and milling machine. They were old models from the 1930s and 1940 and took up too much space for no more use than I did. If this topic is in the wrong forum, please move it, thanks

BATF probably was the ones that sold the trap on eBay in the first place. It could be a crappy ATF trap a trap. I wonder if they expect only machine shops to use a solvent trap on the machines solvent baths? I might need one for my parts washer. I wonder if they would remove a solvent trap from a parts washer?

Determine how annoying. ......Go from there.

Green hiking boots: (1) Celebrate St. PATTY DAY on the trail without getting pinched? (2) Hiding Easter eggs in the grass without scaring the bunny rabbits?

I have old timer ways but I like the new desert combat boots available. Our Marine combat boots in the 1960 were the best in the day. I almost got office hours when I returned to my Infantry Company at Pendleton when I had my second pair of combat boots resoled with red Vibram soles and heels while I was at Cold Weather and Mountain Leadership training at Pickle Meadows.

Tony Lamas and Noconas work for me. Actually I found some good buys on work boots at a new Big 5 Sports store while I was looking for some.22 rimfire Magnus ammo. Got a pair of 8" side zippers for $40. I use them hunting hogs in mesquite and brush.
