  3. Saw them this morning and early afternoon on both this Kindle Fire and the pc with two browsers. Looks good now.
  4. out here in the boonies we used to shoot off firecrackers and bottle rockets, etc.,etc. now days the folks can't buy fireworks to shoot so they break out the firearms and shoot up into the air. Did they learn that from the wars in Iraq and Ganastan?
  5. Do you have the Tubb buffer springs? I've thought about getting his cws to use with heavy long range 308 ammo. Probably get a new spring at the same time. The stock DPMS seems rough during BCG retraction and going in to battery.
  6. ...a work in progress as always AWIPAA. looks like a never ending story.... WP: is also White Phosphorus ...... like artilery shells. It is the freezzing season in West Texas today and a good day for football, blackeyed peas, sweet taters, stew and corn pone. Wishing for UPS to bring some more dirty Federal Lake City 7.62 ammo. It shoots faster than I can afford to buy it.
  7. welcome, and I feel your pain about loseing one you loved. I feel the same way about my old M14 NM. and it has been gone since 1980.
  8. Of course...anything bad about firearms in the hands of WASP folks get's attention like poop draws flies. 2000 dead folks in car wrecks by stupid people driving when they can't operate a flashlight go right on , and on, and on! no problem...

    Busted

I signed up served my time got my ruptured duck never entered a combat zone. I was proud to serve. Thank my God that I never needed to apply for service benefits. I know a couple of guys that are in the same boat as me that collect VA checks after declaring service related disabilities years later. I consider them guilty of fraud. I am truly glad I don't feel a need for something I never earned but wouldn't trade what I experianced in the USMC. for anything. So should I consider myself a veteran or not?
  10. It seems that everyone has their own opinion as to how the AR direct gas impingment system works. Some of the postings are spot on, others not quite exactly correct. impingement is the key word. I have researched gas operating systems on firearms since I worked in a USMC reserve units Infantry companies armory back in 1963. The Marine's handbook was my first reference material, and I have continued to study firearms gas operating systems. I have also found good information on the internet. Here is a link to one of the more detailed explanations: http://ar15barrels.com/prod/operation.shtml
  11. That is the "I*S*O " I meant. On buy and sell Facebook groups and trading forums.
  12. Yep look at a picture of his snaggled tooth grandma, mom, aunt or his first grade teacher! WOW! It could be a long night.
  13. Did you read the single one star review on Amazon?
  14. Welcome from Texas!
  15. OK! , Thanks
  16. This works for me. I don't like to be noticed, It is bad enough to be over 6ft and 255 lbs. I like to be able to say. "Suprise, Surprise!" Specially because my usual carry in familiar places is a.380 peashooter or a 9mm. I save the 1911 or the 357 for risky places. I figure a 380 in a pants pocket is better than a bar of soap in an sock or ah roll of quarters
  17. I see this a lot. ISO. It probably means "I want to buy" but I can't make the words work...so what does ISO stand for?
  18. Primary Arms G2S looks like a very good buy.
  19. Thanks Zebra, I'll check out a Giessele G2S. Who has them at a decent price, I'm not looking for a handout.
  20. It was my understanding that mil-spec rifle parts are of a looser fit which makes them more interchangeably rifle to rifle and more apt to not seize up in battlefield conditions than commercial spected parts. Is that not correct?
  21. It is a known that excessive gas leakage on a M1 Garand 3006 Will cause loss of accuracy. We used a gauge to measure the ID of the gas cylinder and replaced the worn cylinder to restore accuracy. I don't know why an AR10 or AR copy would be different
  22. I like to shoot paper targets 200yd offhand 10 rounds slow, 10 rounds Sit rapid. 300 yd. S&K And 10 prone, 500 yd 10 prone whatever it is called now. I also like to hunt whitetails from a stand and hogs any way I find them, in daylight. I like to call coyote and bobcat with.223 (mini 14) in pastures and.22 WRM (Ithaca saddle lever action) in brush. I like the Timney trigger because it is familar to me.

    Ruger SR-762

I spent a month trying to get a Ruger SR 762. CTD had them for around $1600 There is lots of info over on the Ruger forums. Biggest difference is an adjustable gas piston system. I didn't find one locally to eyeball and touch plus got a good deal on a new DPMS 308 that I liked instead for half the price from a local gun store.
  24. Yep my wife says....."It is another of those man things"...rednecks clinging to their guns, trucks and beer.
  25. Actually I didn't INTENTIONALLY dig up either Moses posting nor sisco's posting on here Sometimes I just mess up.
