    Hello

Hello from Comanche County Texas. I am an old school retired oil patch codger and gun shop owner that used to think the AR platform was for playtime. But as curiosity gave me an itch I bought a cheap DPMS LR308 and joined this bunch and started learning. I figured that by tearing it down and asking questions I could get educated. It has worked, mainly because of my experiences and the knowledge of these guys.

    Say that again?
  3. Maybe it is time to let the fox into the chicken house
  4. Be better to buy a keg-er-a-tor and put it in your A/C cooled mancave and invite all your AR308 friends to share a keg and a batch of Wash's smoked brats. ...I'll supply the buns sauerkraut onions and mustard....and a couple of sad stories about a month of February spent in Columbus and Zanesville I have also spent some days in Columbus waiting for the snowplow to clear the runway so I could fly home.
  5. I bet that is so, what with all the GPS, A/C padded seat etc.etc. not much like the model 12 maintainer (with a bench seat), I ran back in the 1950s while I was a college student. I stood up most of the time unless I was gradeing a haul road. I did always have stuff to eat in my lunch pail and a Gott 3 gallon watercan of ice water with a few beers for breaks. I was lucky to have a cab depending which grader was on the job. We had one with a cab and one without, The equipment truck driver , which was also me, drove under a low underpass hauling one of the maintainers on a float trailer and amputated one of the graders' nice cab. Them was the good old days.....
  6. Do you like tuna tacos? I hear they aren't fattening.
  7. Hey Doc is "or what" how you cure crossed-eyed girls?....How about crossed-eye boys? Just curious
  8. There is a temperature indicating paste that you apply to the neck on test cases (changes color at the correct temp) and you apply it to a few cases in order to regulate the time the neck is heated by the variable speed control of the motor that turns the case during the heating cycle.

Yes I did. I didn't get a lot of smoke when I ran the temp to 250 and very little ash. GMG gourmet pellets. Got more smoke at 160. Is that normal?
  10. I am just like you, I wish I had of got one when I had my gun shop open, but I really didn't have the money with 4 kids in school and bellys to keep fed. I probably wouldn't use one that much.
  11. Maybe we need a special section here on Club House for TOOLS? or am I missing something?
  12. I like the 12 speed one, with a stand I got from Harbor Freight for $135 two and a half years ago. So far it is holding up fine. Every thing locks down good and solid, wouldn't want to have to use it for full production, but it serves my hobby purposes. I sold my old Craftsman in 2014 after the it kept burning out the starting condensers and motors. I paid $200 for it in 1967. Is anyone here using a Smitty Grizzly 3 in 1 machine, as a mill and lathe?
  13. It don't look like they cleaned them. Once in the 1970s, I took some Russian trainee Engrs. fishing in an Oklahoma lake and they only used string and baited hooks (no rod&reels) they kept every fish they caught, carp, suckers, bass and catfish. That night they built a fire, gutted some of them, filled the pot with lake water added salt pepper and boiled them about 3 minutes and chowed down. It was a sight for sore eyes!

Okay so what did you prove? that you have ,347 inches before the gas key impacts against the gas tube when the bolt closes? the only instructions I have been able to find say that the gastube end should protrude even with the middle of the cam pin relief cut,
  15. Yep don't let them 2 back to front Claymores that he uses for a rifle rest bother them, everything servrs a couple of purposes, when you are an multiplexer......

I tried to download the stuff from lifehacker.com and my Malware security blocked them out, so I sucked it up and got my Huawei Wally world smart AT&T phone out that isn't activated and charged it up without the Sims card and went in the backdoor to Google and downloaded the GMG app on the phone, I can use it just for the GMG WIFI. I'm still gonna uninstall the Malware Security and download the Lifehacker stuff and get the GMG app on my Candles.
