  1. acog not necessarily, was replying to your posting about a trigger and a fixed power scope for your build. BTW the lower looks great! I have two fixed power scopes that I have had mounted for over 40 years on a Springfield and a Mouser custom 3006 deer rifles, that were used when I got them, that have always stayed on at sight in days, they are 4x and 6x Weavers. As for triggers I also like a single stage 3lb. pull. I lucked out getting a MechArmor drop in before they had the patent problems. They are still available under a different brand name.
  2. The idea of a good fixed power scope of six power that holds a zero sounds good to me.

I for one really appreciate the Green Bay Packers for their great game they played against the Cowboys yesterday. They are good. I look forward to seeing them against Atlanta Sunday... Go Pack!
  4. Bot flies I reckon! Goat peckers maybe but they don't eat beanie weiners or Viennias. LOL Cockroaches! turds, worms, all kinds of flies and bugs, sticks and there are a lot of different ones. One of my classmates in H.S. is a retired x-ray tech medic with the USMC.
  5. I have 1962 3006 1962 National Match LC 20 round paper boxes and ball ammo in 8rd clips in bandoleers all stored in original metal ammo cans that shoots cleaner and as accurate as new stuff does also had same results with .45 ACP and.357 from 1990s I had 6 boxes of Winchester 12Ga. 00 buck shot in paper hulls my Dad got from Govt. during WWIi that we shot in 1995 that shot okay . It had been in the lower drawer of his gun cabinet. I still don't trust it for home or personal protection. I bought 2 boxes of low priced Winchester .45 cap FMJ 220 grain at a local gun storethat put out heavy black smoke and 10 % won't eject (smoke stacks) in my 1911 70 series Govt. I checked and adjusted the recoil spring, extractor and ejector it checked out good with a empty case. And three magazines of green box Remington cycled fine. I can't believe Winchester would sell that sorry ammo.
  6. Yes from the grocery store wrapped in plastic, and just use cows and pigs and chickens for the the petting Zoo, or at Old McDonalds farm..Ei!--- Ei!---- Oh!
  7. You oughta see what US medics dig out of rag-heads ears in the Middle East, alive and wiggling.
  8. Does it look like a cotton patch, ready to be picked?
  9. Good one IDoc, I never thought of it that way, could be, or...maybe just because he can!
  10. We need to get BACK to this... maybe, maybe we will this time around............knock on wood..... cross your fingers and .....don't kiss asses! We are trying to keep Texas out of range for the modern Democrats, convert them to Bluedog Democrats, We really need some loyal opposition Republicans have not done Texas right. They have jerrymandered our middle of the road Democrats out of the picture and driven the rest into the large cities and totally to the far left. We need to send some of our brainwashed folks to truth school,.
  11. Yes they are Basque in Bakersfield also. I did a 14 week project in Bakersfield and did compliance audits for Radiation and explosives safety and training there back in the 1980s and 90s. I also had Oklahoma relatives that migrated to Bakersfield back during the Dust Bowl.
  12. ....get a room in Bakersfield and eat a dinner at the woolgrowers association, they have sheepherders food and Dago red in a 55 gallon drum least wise they did the last time I was there. Lots of Okies there!
  13. Never, Never ever....again...
  14. I'm usually a what ever is cold if offered, buy Coors or Bush lite, Micalob but I liked the Sam Adams enough to pay the extra price. By th way I dont think words hav 2 B speld rit to B understood, if u no what I mean. Cheers!
  15. I drank a Monster drink my son-in-law left in our fridge and didn't like it too much, I liked the Sam Adams beer he left a lot better. He is always buying those strange beer and energy drinks, it only adds pounds to his body, that I can tell. My old ex-Air Force doctor gave me a prescription for Potassium pills (KCl?) , big suckers!....and said that I could eat a dozen bananas and only get half as much Potassium as one pill. I took one a day for a week and quit having the leg cramps at night. I still take one on an occasion when I have leg or hand cramps, seems to help. I lucked out on the polio, my school mate got it when we were in third grade. He spent months in an iron lung, missed a year of school and had ump-teen surgeries, the polio affected his arms, he was a tough kid. He became a bookkeeper and manager for his dad's grocery store. I think I was 17 when I took the Salk vaccine on a sugar cube.

    Another Texas Welcome!
  17. Right on fellow airplane driver! I might not always of had a dollar but usually had an ace up my sleeve.
  18. I have read a lot of information and about the benefit of a. Pressure node / free floating in wood stock and did some fiberglass bedded stocks on custom stocked long range rifles primarely 3006 and 300 mag rifles. We found that a rifle with the clearance of a single playing card was plenty of freefloat on our rifles with slings at the range. We used strips of plastic gage to determine how much and where (amplitude and frequency) that the barrel moved up and down and side to side with various rounds and that is how we determined that the thickness of a playing card was ample free floating. Kind of how an old timey red neck did things before ultra high speed cameras and computers were around. By the way what is an 11B besides a long narrow shoe size?

Couldn't decide which to buy a Springfield M1A .308 or a DPMS LR308 Oracle, so now I have one of each, different strokes for some folks! As an old brown shoe Marine that got out in 1966 I appreciate the M1, BAR, M14, M-60. I never liked the "Matel, it's swell" M16 peashooter, prefered the Ruger Mini 14 as a pretty good coyote, bobcat, Javalina shooter,..... but the LR 308 is a different story. (reach out and touch someone.)
  20. maybe a 168 OTM?
  21. Oops wrong place.
  22. Go to bed early and get up late . Work your butt off every day and leave a lot to do tomorrow. You will be surprised how fast a week passes.
