Which ones did you get Buttonbuck? I never have had a problem getting struck with a snake, even though I have hunted around a lot of snakes rattlesnakes and copperheads along with cottonmouths in Texas. I did wear hightop lace boots when I was hunting Quail. I have had a couple of dogs bit, I had a good black spaniel that was bitten several times, thought he was gonna die a time or two, then my Dad had a big Airedale that was a really good hunter, and he got bit several times he survived them but couldn't survive the car that hit him when he was crossing the highway. He was 14, I thought my dad was gonna die, Dad was 76. That old Airedale couldn't resist killing any skunk he ran across. Dad made him ride in the back of the pickup when he smelled like skunk, which was most of the time.

Every one in Texas needs to get behind our President and congratulate him and the negotiations that made this wonderful deal become a reality! MADE AMERICA GREATER AGAIN! The Texas governor and the Texas Attorney General are working on a bill that will declare Austin and San Antonio for rent to the NRA and Duck Dynasty Inc. for Urban Redneck Enhancement Cities. (Current Sanctuary victims and providers have been provided free transportation and relocated to Mexicalif.)

Like the man said get a bigger hammer Clamp the front sight on top of a short piece of 2"x 6"with a 1/2" hole, pin big end down. It may help to soak the pins with PG Blaster and let it soak for a couple of hours. I don't think you should apply any heat, just a strong punch and a big hammer, you can peck away with a light weight punch and regular hammer all day and only make a mess. One really good wack with a big hammer can be productive. I would hold the punch in a pair of Vise-Grips.

Anyone Own an LMT-MWS-Sharpshooter-L129A1?
mrmackc replied to m1911's topic in Lewis Machine & Tool Company
Welcome to you Mr 1911, from Texas where we like to shoot about anything that goes BANG! Well I must of learned a mess of stuff off of this thread, but I'm confused as to what exactly? 1911, What about you and your Colt 1911? I guess you have more than one? what? and Why? You shoot an M14, is it 100% USGI? but never shoot out past 300 yds, strange that you would need a scope unless you have bad eyes? What ammo do you shoot in your M14 I use a lot of Federal factory loads mostly 168 OTM and 175 Matchking in my one and only M1A, it is scoped with an inexpensive Bushnell 4x18 .308 BDC, so far, I like the way it shoots. I don't reload any more. I learned a lot about AR308s from these guys since I started paying attention back in 2014. -

Looking for feedback on a Burris Fullfield 4.5-14x42
mrmackc replied to beantown's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
I have three Bushnell BDC scopes one is a .223 BDC on my Ruger Mini-14. The other two are .308 BDC 4.5 X 18. I have #1 on my DPMS Oracle LR308 and #2 on the Springfield M1A NM 7.62 x 51 .308. I haven't used them out past 300 Yards yet but the BDC reticle are okay out to an estimated 300 Yards. I hope to get on the 500 yard range next month, and eventually on the 1000 yard range. We have to pass a long range qualification shoot in order to use the 1000 range. -
There is another missing factor in modifying a D.I. system to a piston system. The action of the D.I. gas pressure acting on the bolt to prevent prematurely unlocking which is caused by the expanding gas pressure pushing on the front of the bolt which allows the cam pin to delay rotating the bolt into an unlocked condition until the pressure is reduced in the chamber thusly reducing stress on the. locking lugs.

Sorry Masser Shepp sir, I gonna have to plead animated temporary senility, concerning having too many guns. I reckon maybe I just need some more secure storage. Please don't hit me again!

I've got something you can wipe on that neutralizes acid, after it's wiped on. You could wipe down your blued shotgun barrels, then grab them by the barrels to put them in the safe - never have a mark on them, WAY down the road... (this sounds great! Yes I have all blued firearms, a couple are ones I blued myself with Brownell hot bluing salts except for my Parkerized M1A,black AR rifles and stainless mini-14 and a couple of stainless pistols, one aluminum framed Colt Frontier Scout.22Lr. and one browned custom built (by me) .50 Cal mountain rifle muzzleloader. I have Winchester, Ithaca, Remington and Franchi shotguns, all factory blued For years I have been wiping down everything with a wet Hoppes #9 patch and not handling with bare hands before putting them up and have had good luck keeping them rust free, I sometimes wipe them down with a silicone cloth, but it won't take off salt from sweat. DAMN, I see that I have too many guns! Maybe I need to open a pawn shop.

Yep, I've been told I'm full of poop. (SCHIDT)

Hang in there GS455, you could come out like me. I took some time off from competition shooting at 55 pursuing upper management work and being a dad to high school and college students. retired at 62 and restored cars till at 72 prostate cancer got me off track. Got the itch again, eyes still work good. And at 80 I still pop caps and hit the x- ring as often as not, forget the standing to prone, Getting up and down is hell, but where I shoot allows us older service rifle shooters to provide our own shooting bench. It is still fun! I never expected to make it past 75, There aren't too many old brown shoe Marines around. Hell, Mad Dog Mattis was a Butterbar Lt. when I got out.

I probably should have asked Armed Eye Doc. I saw the link on the M1A Forum, didn't know there was such a thing it is a small lens that fits in the hood of the M1A NM rear sight. They have them for the AR 15.

DPMS 308LR original except for trigger, charging handle, Tubb spring, butt plate sling swivel and scope. Also Springfield NM M1A with scope. Never had a hiccup from either shoot Remington and Federal OTM and LC commercial. Also have a Ruger Mini-14 and other bolt and lever centerfire. I shoot what I like and like what I shoot or I don't keep it.

Have any of you been to this web page? http://www.bjonessights.com/

All other things being equal, price isn't one of them!

So it is a.3006 on a AR platform with side charging. Is there a chance it will out perform a .308AR or a .308LR costing less than than half as much. Probably not. Maybe the.300 WIN. Is worth taking a look. I'll maybe take a look at Abilene next week if they have it in the store. They have a good sale on.

Just send me all them nasty old CTD parts. I have a CIA pilot friend that flies air-cargo out of Kenya and Dubai and he will laundry them for us, they will come back with a ISIS clean bill of sale!

Sorry to say but you may end up with a MEC floating shell holder boat anchor . It won't be the first time MEC came up with a dud. I bought one of the first MEC Grabber 12 gauge loader. It grabbed more than just a AA hull a lot of times.
