  7. A side story that is funny about this friend was he was a avid photographer along with being a gun guru. He went deer hunting in Colorado and before he went bought a Winchester Model 70 in .270 from me, it was a high dollar factory engraved piece and I mounted a Leopold scope on it. While he was hunting without a guide he decided to do some photography and hung the rifle in a tree did his picture taking and couldn't remember where he left his rifle, he and his buddies hunted for it for three days and never found it. Some lucky hunter either found it or it may still be hanging on that tree. It was over a $1500 rifle even in 1974.
  8. One of my engineer shooting buddies in Pampa was an engineer for Cabot , Cabot had a metal foundry and manufactored tubes for the new 175 MM howitzer for the Army back during the 1970s and he was involved in improving accuracy for the tubes. He had a lot of information on barrel harmonics and we did some work on the stocks of our bolt action target rifles by moving nodes trying to improve accuracy. We ended up deciding a free floated barrel was best, because a wooden stock changed pressure on the barrel when moisture caused swelling in the wood. we also read about the work Browning was doing.
  9. The rings wearing down instead of the bolt, prevents wear on the bolt, and because the parts are mass produced to allow more clearance between the bolt and the inside of the carrier, by making a seal with the rings, without having to precision size the bolt to the carrier? since you eliminated the gas rings and welded up the piston and custom sized the bolt piston clearance, that may actually improve accuracy until the welded bolt wears down. The gas rings can be replaced when they wear down without having to replace the bolt. Maybe I think too much like an engineer, which I can't help, because I is one.
  10. What about the fusion rounds today? I'm jumping in here uninvited, hope I can help. How many total rounds of each down range? Did you follow a break in procedure for the bore, run a patch after each shot first 10 or 20 rounds? Why are you shooting fusion bullets? Did you use a full magazine and shoot all the rounds each loading? You haven't shot any bore lapping rounds yet? Don't for a while. Are you using any special bore cleaning solvent like Benchrest Hoppes? Which is a copper anti-fouling solvent. It attacks copper. Don't use it without knowing the side effects. I really haven't seen anything specially bad with your case picture but that 44 grains of power seems a lot. However I would not be surprised if you shoot some basic beginning pressure FMJ loads the slivering stops.. Has the gas key and inside of the bolt shown any slivers? I know this seems like a lot of questions. Don't read anything bad into them.
  11. My, choice in buffer tubes and preferences include thread quality the finish and smoothness of the inside of the tube as well as the outside finish.. after all that tube fills an important functionality of the rifle.
  12. Yes, check out their website for more info.
  13. To make it a true Bullpup. They are not your Granddad's Colt 1911!, or even your uncle's CZ 75!
  14. Right, 62miles door to door. They plan to make about 150 pistols a month and they have a waiting list. Sign up on the web. Site.
  15. I Gotta have two of these one for me and one for my main squeeze of 51 years She got a nice leather purse from Santa with a special pocket to conceal a small to medium sized pistol. Her Colt.32 ACP fits nicely.
  16. Manufacturers retail price should be around $900. (BondBullpup.com)
  17. Thanks, I had never heard of it before I saw it on a internet sales ad.
  18. Ha! That is an astute observation and an intelligent comment. "Worthless and deplorable" old brown shoe Marine fits me better than I can imagine! Semper Fi!
  19. Being smart buying a rifle scope isn't just about throwing dollars at a prestigious vendor ,beware quality does not always follow the price curve.
  20. Thanks for sharing this with all of us hardly working and hard working old codgers.
  21. That has been my experience with Brownells Damn this stupid self- righteous spelling computer! Brownsville my ass!
  22. Shooters World by Lovex Tactical Rifle D073-08 Smokeless Powder
  23. I would be skeptical that the anti-rotation pin comes with the Brownells trigger, that may be the reason for the difference in price. Brownsville deleted mention of the pin set in their description.
