  1. When we moved out here in 89 we had three stations and it took a 72' antenna and a booster, no internet. then in the 90s we got DirectTV or whatever it was called. cost $700 for a box and a mini dish. neighbors had a 10 or 12' dish. we got a land line in 95, dial up internet and later DSN internet, other choice is Hughs or DVDs. I had the same probs with dial up. We are out on a Promontory, lake on 3 sides, one road in same road out. 40 miles either direction to a McDonalds, Walmart. actually it is pretty nice and peaceful.

This is what followed me home yesterday
  3. Well, except all of those Deplorables, gonna have a hard time finding them once they start dressing up!
  4. I don't have any tracks but have some alloy wheels and swamp tires off my Kawasaki Mule and I could mount the twin Italian 20 gauge automatic shotguns on the arm rests. I do have several rattle cans of green tan yellow and brown krylon paint. Someone will prolly ask for pics. The Rascal already looks good in candy-apple red.
  5. I have a almost new Rascal motorized wheel chair in my shop. A neighbor lady sold her husband's when he expired of cancer for $100. I tuned it up with new batteries a year ago and am keeping it for my old age to use to drive down to the water to fish and to change the target. I may sell it or donate it for the cause.
  6. We have to be vigilant. You never know when one may get flung off of the old manure spreader and light here amongst us.
  7. Do you mean you would rather traipse all day out in the cold-ass woods to shoot Bull-Winkle to eat rather than go into town and eat some dead cow meat at Apple-bees? You must not be an Oboma Democrat!
  8. I have used the red plastic thang to do the Laser bore-sighting deal with the LR308 upper and scope, works okay out to 30 , 50 yards any longer distance needs a nice cloudy day like today for me to see the El-Cheapo 308, 243 cartridge case Laser. I am gonna try a sheet of aluminum foil with a bullseye drawn on it and see how that works for the M1A.
  9. AR Trooper it looks like you finally got a jump upwards on the "learning curve" LOL

Planeflyer guy, I was looking at these Latigo slings on the Brownells site last night. I have one of the original Latigos on my customized 03A3 since the 1960s! It is still flexible. I like it also except the price and I have 3 brand new surplus 1907 leather slings in the cabinet. I keep them flexible with Lexol. It isn't as good as I would like, I havent found any as good as neatsfoot oil, nut it is messy, any recommendation?

I agree Shepp, The Beachin' sling stays on the LR308, I need a miniature model for the mini 14.

Got the M1A today it came in a nice cloth range bag, maybe I'll take some photos of the vintage old 7.62 NATO army rifle when I get the sling added. Do you think I should use a new leather 1907 sling or a Beachin' sling? I have several leather 1907 slings, but only one Beachin' sling in black and it is on my LR 308. Did someone say I need to buy another Beachin' 2 point sling? ....speak up I can't hear you! Pew!...Pew!...Pew! Varrrooom!

cdnn sports often has a item or two that are great deals. They are in Abilene Texas, do over the counter sales and also internet sales at cdnnsports.com you can sign up for their email newsletter.
  15. how do you like your Kzone rest? I have a MTM Site-in-clean rest, don't really like the single point height adjustment screw , it only raises the rear , better for cleaning than shooting, but it has good storage, no allowance to add permanent weight. cost a couple of dollars less than a Kzone at Amazon.

I went up there and looked at this rifle, a very good price and an excellent M1A, They are kind of flooding the market now, why I don't know, good investment for just a little more than an ounce of gold bullion.

A few .308 Nostler 168 match full magazines shy of $2K with my discounted. It will reach out there and touch someone. I got it for competition shooting. And because it will be my last iron sight shooter.

    Big Trouble

Well I found myself a new in the box Springfield National Match M1A loaded with a air gauged competition barrel at my favorite local gun shop. I found one on the internet and called my friend at the local gun shop to ask how much he would change to do a FFL transfer. He asked why I didn't buy from him. He has several new ones in stock. Gave me a price $100 less than I was paying, no shipping, no transfer fee. I was kinda ashamed that I didn't check with him first. I have bought two new guns from him. He is a good young guy, a cop trying to get a clientele established, he is really into tac arms class lll license, and he is into suppressor and night vision hog hunting, and does Creocoating. I pick the M1A up tomorrow afternoon.
  20. Any of you ever had prostate biopsy samples done? Rough sex don't seem too bad compared to when that damn tissue sampling gun goes BANG! 20 or 30 times!
  21. Maybe it is because there is no mil spec for a 308 AR,LR barrel nut thread. Also there may be a problem with patent violations. The reason for bringing out a new Gen ll could be a perceived need for changing the barrel attachment method, engineers do that you know. I have done that a time or two myself.

    Big Trouble

I had some good luck in 1963. I was on Tdy at a Navy-Marine Reserve Center in N Central Texas and was assigned to take some artillery reservists to Fort Sill for annual rifle training and Qualifications with their M1 rifles. I went to the ammo supply dump to Requisition ammo. The army supply Sgt. said that they had a shidt load of 3006 ball in clips in bandoleers and no M1 rifles so he gave me a whole shelf full of 3006 metal boxes and said don't bring any back, shoot it all up. I only had two officers and 18 enlisted. We shot up all but 4 boxes and the Executive Officer said take the left over ammo back in your deuce and half. He had his personal M1 and knew I had mine so we each got 2 boxes.

We have been shooting a lot of LC 30 cal from 1964, never a FTFire and group nicely. They have been stored inside in a climate controlled shop. Wish I had a couple of thousand M80 7.62 NATO L.C. from then. I have 200 rounds of 1962 LC National Match in 20 round boxes, I hate to shoot it up, I want to keep it. That is the last I have.

Thanks, is this the one? I checked out it isn't the one with all the goodies, the SN isn't right. That is a very good price for this rifle. I want the one with a air gauged barrel.
