  1. He just might be. Food has been missing lately and I blamed it on the grandson. Maybe I need to appologize to him.
  2. And it was in my mailbox yesterday. Love Midway's shipping!
  3. Let 'em bring it on. My experience is they are like blackbirds. Shoot one and the rest just fly away.
  4. Just placed an order with them today. Fastest shipping I ever seen. I fully expect it to be here tomorrow!
  5. It's ordered and paid for. Now the dreaded wait. It's nice being out in the country away from all the big metropolitan areas, but it sucks that I have to order and wait. Not worth it to me to drive 400 miles for a gun part. I would venture to say I have the only 308 AR rifle within 50 miles.
  6. I realize this is a very old thread, but I just ordered one of these. I'll let you know how it works out.
  7. Too rich for me. I'm just a po boy.
  8. I'm sorry, but I just can't finf the words. So moving.
  9. Will an Armalite barrel fit on a DPMS receiver? I know the answer is probably no, but I cannot find a DPMS pattern barrel in 243.
  10. Guess I'm too old. I remember when the Beatles came here, the Stones and all the "drug" bands. Now I mostly listen to Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet, along those lines. My wife hates them. But she is 8 years my younger.
  11. It probably isn't much. The slightest imperfection might cause problems. Might. Exactly what rifle do you have? Is it a factory build or a parts build? If you suspect the chamber get a reamer and lightly, and I mean very lightly, turn it just a couple of turns in the chamber. That should clear up any slight burrs or imperfections that might be in the chamber. You are not reaming the chamber, just lightly polishing it. Also make sure it is properly greased, especially the bolt lugs.
  12. For the 308 and the 5.56 AR's you have to use small base dies, not the full length ones. The full length ones work fine for bolt guns, but the self loaders need the small base dies.
  13. As far as semiautos go, the AR platform is very accurate on its own. I am a M1a man myself, but my 308 AR will definitely outshoot it. And my M1a is NM upgraded.
  14. Are these started by lightning strikes or Ferguson protester types?
  15. I'll do that for $200 or more donation.
  16. I'm sold! Let me pick up some more cans along the road and I'll give you a holler.
  17. It has a threaded barrel and comes with a thread protector. Anyone wishing to contribute to the "Laid Up But Not Dead Yet" warrior fund can contact me for my PayPal info. All contibutions are welcome and greatly appreciated. Contributions of $100 or more gets your name engraved somewhere on the rifle. "Have Dremel, Will Engrave"
  18. Got anything to go in a blue bathroom?
  19. I have a solid woody for a 308 model.
  20. Great little weapons. So simple. Brings back memories.
  21. That's the exact bench I built back in the late '70's. I didn't use the lower shelf in the middle section because I use one of those big Ohaus scales. Mine is very stable. I love it. Been looking for those plans. Thanks for posting them.
  22. Stella looks like she would have a lot of good meat on her.
  23. None of the guns that are left after the cops pick through them will be any good. They just throw them around and don't give a damn. Shame. I am checking my family ancestry!
  24. I bought a Velocity trigger and love it. The guy who makes them came from Timney triggers. I got the straight trigger, single stage with 3.5 # pull. It rivals all the Geiselle and other high end triggers for only $150.
  25. One of the best lines heard lately was from Izzy Kapp, a now retired shop foreman from the old Republic Steel Plant in Cleveland. At 17 Izzy immigrated to the USA from England after his family escaped from Poland when he was 12. A more proud American can not be imagined. He often said, "I am overwhelmed by the opportunities my country offers me!" All five of his children graduated from college. One got an MS, another got a JD, and the third an MD degree. It took Izzy 13 years of night school to get a college degree. When a young Black kid was being laid off at the end of his 90 day evaluation period he confronted Izzy in the huge Republic Steel Plant break room at lunch and tried to intimidate him with all sorts of NAACP / ACLU / etc. threats. "I want this on-the-record in front of everybody." the young man said. "You' firin' me 'cause I'm Black!" Without even looking up from his sandwich the foreman said, "No. Wehired you because you're Black. We're firing you because you're useless."
