  1. I have relatives there. Does that count?
  2. RIP, brother.
  3. I'm in the other end of the state, close to Rome. Read a lot. Watch you tube videos. And remember, Google is your friend.
  4. Where in Georgia? Maybe we can get together and I can help you out.
  5. RIP, brother.
  6. The clamp on style is the way to go, in my opinion. I took my tube to a friend who has a lathe and he was doing fine cutting it down. He thought it was going too slow, which I said that was best when working with aluminum, but he switched to trimming it down from the end. It caught on the cutter and completely destroyed the tube but it was a cheap one. $50 or so. I have ordered another one and if it needs trimming at least he knows what not to do. LOL
  7. My brother went with the Armalite Defensive model while I went with the Windham Weaponry SRC. They are both great rifles, but I can just shoot better than him. My WW is a tad more accurate than his AR-10. But both are very good shooters.
  8. I have absolutely no plans, present or future, of drilling pin holes for any barrel. And I'm a gunsmith. Just too much time and energy to make it worth my time. Some shops are set up to do it, but not me. I just don't have the time or desire to do it.
  9. Thanks, men. I figured as much. Off to the lathe I go!
  10. My rifle uses a pinned (2 pins) gas block with pic rail for front sight. My tube is about 3/8" too long, and my search found this issue has been addressed before. My options: trim the handguard or change to a low profile gas block and a railed handguard. So, my question is this: are the pin specs the same for all? Mine is a DPMS pattern. So, will any DPMS pattern pinned gas block work? I really don't want to install a set screw that might collapse the pin hole of the barrel. If they are standard spec, I can use a pinned low gas block, even if just one pin.
  11. That would be a start.
  12. A private jet arrives at Heathrow international airport and Donald Trump strides to a waiting limousine which drives him to a warm and dignified reception from the Queen. From there, they are driven in a 1934 Bentley to the edge of central London where they change to a magnificent 17th century carriage hitched to six white horses. They continue on towards Buckingham Palace waving to the thousands of cheering Britons; all is going well. Suddenly, the right rear horse lets fly with the most horrendous earth-shattering fart ever heard in the British Empire. The fart shakes the coach. The smell is atrocious! Both passengers in the carriage must use perfume-dipped handkerchiefs over their nose, but the two do their best to ignore the incident. The Queen turns to Trump saying, "Mr. Trump, please accept my regrets. I am sure you understand there are some things that even a Queen cannot control." Trump, with his usual diplomatic aplomb, replied, "Your Majesty, do not give the matter another thought. Until you mentioned it, I thought it was one of the horses."
  13. Now that is the funniest thing I've seen or heard in quite a while. Pilgrims. Gotta love 'em!
  14. But, the pole could be used for barricade rest practice. So now we have a Ruger Precision rifle, shooting glitter rounds, inside a house using a stripper pole as a barricade rest. I believe the book would be a best seller.
  15. I agree with your frustration. I never ordered any of their 308 stuff, but I was thinking of doing it.
  16. I have shot 1,000's of handgun land 1,000 of their 5.56, all reman. Not the first problem so far. And their stuff is more accurate than a lot of big name stuff. I shoot their 230 gr 45ACP and all 3 weights of 9mm.
  17. Stay clear of this kid. Gubmint snipers are not known for their accuracy.
  18. I got some serious wood for one.
  19. Well, I liked it. At my age they look wonderful. They were not many built like that when I was growing up.
  20. Had to do mine several years ago. The original shower pan was lead. That was the problem. Replaced it with a plastic pan. And use marine grade plywood. It will give you a couple of extra years before you have to do it all again.
  21. I couldn't tell you what mine is even made of. Haven't seen the top in so long I have just forgotten. To me a clean workbench is a sign of a demented mind.
  22. Who is this guy. He sounds like a 16 year old that has only made it to first base. Once.
  23. Why, yes. Yes I did.
  24. "I like it in the rear." I bet she does!!!
  25. Sounds like a great day. I might show up one day in my wheelchair. I want one of those with the tank tracks on it so I can get out to the really good places.
