  5. 98Z5V's sponge camo job on his Savage gave me the inspiration and motivation to do mine. I had been thinking about painting it for a while and just didn't know how I wanted to do it until I saw this.
  6. I just finished my 300BLK SBR that I'm going to hunt with at some point this fall. I was going for pine tree top-tree stand compatible. Before After
  7. Up and running again for 2017. Calibers will be building up now that the snow is gone. 8. There has to be one in every crowd!
  9. Mine is a SD tactical too. The black is already off, spray on paint stripper does wonders.
  10. Ok, I google-foo'd my own answer. From the Aervoe website. (view larger image) Extremely durable camouflage paint to U.S. Military colors. Designed to U.S. Military Designated Field Coloring standards and 595 Federal Color Specifications Matte and semi-gloss finishes Dries to a tough, hard finish Resists corrosion and abrasion Will not chip or peel under harsh conditions High-hide enamel Performs at temperatures up to 300°F (149°C) Not recommended for immersion surfaces Applications: metal, wood, plastic, vehicle restoration, weapons, and hunting and camping equipment.
  11. The suppressor has a titanium tube and end caps so even high temp grill paint doesn't stick too well. I have a can of Aervoe Coyote brown from a project I never used it on and intended on stripping the suppressor and using it as a base coat over everything. Maybe I should strip the old black paint off the suppressor, repaint it with the same high temp black as a base coat then the Aervoe over it? How temperature resistant is Aervoe?
  12. What is used to prep an AR to give the paint the best chance of staying on? I'm thinking of doing a camo job on my 300BLK SBR and suppressor that may or may not have grease/soot on surfaces to be painted.
  13. I have one on my 300BLK SBR with an 8" barrel and so far it has worked great. I run it strictly suppressed and have it set to bleed off excess gas 26 clicks from fully closed when shooting 220-225 grain subs. I haven't tried restricting gas yet for shooting supers. Closed to 4 1/4 turns(17 clicks) is restricted zone. 4 1/2 turns(18 clicks) is fully open. 19-32 clicks is fully open + bleed off mode

  19. Range brass is taking a hiatus for winter. There are people crazy enough to shoot in sub freezing temps and wade in 18" deep snow to their targets but they are too few and far between to support much in the way of accumulating inventory. Those of you who I am saving particular calibers for need not worry, I am still looking.

  21. Bigbrew you would be more than welcome to some .308 if I had any. My last listing from Dec.7 had 0 as the quantity I had, and that hasn't changed due to winter being here. In fact I am down to 9mm and 40S&W and thats about it.

  24. Was the buffer tube threaded into the lower far enough that the bottom edge of the opening held the buffer retainer in? If it was there should be no way for the retainer and spring to jump out of their socket.
  25. You sir are a sadist of the first order! At the same time I wish I was there. 5* this morning then the freezing rain started. Tip ups will be coming out soon.
