  1. I'm hoping for "as good", but you never know 'til you get it on the range
  2. Not to get off topic, but did they ever get your "uncle's" rifles fixed, Robo?
  3. I mean what if the build I'm working on can out shoot one of LaRue's tac drivers...
  4. Does it count if I built it?
  5. Is that the same one with the Chamber of Secrets engraving, Brian? That's amazing work, man, your wife's gonna have a heart attack! Wait, she doesn't get on here, does she?
  6. Took the words right outta my mouth. If only there were more people out there like him.... +1 bro :)
  7. I'm not sure if this'll fall under "the rule", but I already ordered it so it doesn't really matter. Has anyone ever used one of these on a big boy AR? Did you have a gap like with the Ergo Grip? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1151348749/hogue-overmolded-pistol-grip-ar-15-rubber
  8. Well, 6 now, since I just got mine ordered. $214 and change (w/tax since I already live in Ga)
  9. I've wondered the same thing. I would thunk it depends on the specific muzzle device, as well as the length of the threads on your barrel and any timing shims that may or may not be necessary. I'm sure someone here can throw you some numbers soon.
  10. XD Autocorrect. I think he meant STRIPPED lower receiver
  11. Oh yeah, we're all just one big, happy, disfunctional family :lmao:
  12. That's why I love this place
  13. Ain't that the truth. Hell, they manufacture half of it here, anyways, I'm just saying semi-off topic, don't trust government. Just because they watch us, it doesn't mean we shouldn't keep one eye on them. Constantly. Major Payne style in your sleep if you can
  14. They're still around, but the term "mental illness" has such a broad definition nowadays that even mild depression could be enough for big brother to put you on one of those lists they are ever-so-proud of, and for some that's enough to convince themselves they can get by without the help they need. Now, there ARE certain people that should probably have their own wing, but there aren't as many of them as they'd like you to believe, as that would complicate their agenda.
  15. I figured an enhanced Tricon would be a sort of compromise, and Geissele's not normally one for compromise. Thanks, FaRKle, lemme know if they ever get the ST-E figured out and on the market.
  16. I'm planning on getting the SSA-E,but I kind of like the Super Tricon trigger. Do they/have they ever made a Super Tricon-Enhanced?(I guess that's what you'd call it)
  17. THAT is what I was waiting for, 98, sorry for the prodding :)
  18. That'll do it, I suppose. Though trusting the government (any government) is your first mistake.
  19. BTW, since there are so many different answers out there on the .308 vs 7.62 pressure that all contradict each other, here's something that might clear it up a little bit: http://how-i-did-it.org/762vs308/chamber.html
  20. If you've got the patience, Black Hole Weaponry will make a match barrel to your specs (though they only use the non-armalite pattern extension, so only dpms style bolts), and I believe they chamber them in .308, among other calibers. They say it takes 6-12 weeks, but for the price it's worth the wait. I'll let you know how they shoot once mine gets here, headspaced, and installed.
  21. You mean the XM-25? I think that was '08 or '09, the one I'm thinking of might be older than that. It's more or less what you described; a portable (small arms), non-explosive JDAM, guided by lasers or GPS or something. I'll post a link when I find it, that article's got to still be out there. Somewhere....
  22. Lucky, I love 10mm almost as much as 1911's. If you want a companion piece, you should pick Toolndie's brain. Knowing how fast he works he's probably finished that 10mm AR by now....
  23. It's pretty sweet, but I'm pretty sure they had a segment on Future Weapons or something on the subject several years ago. Let me know the day DARPA starts sending out catalogs, they've got some crazy-badass schitt hidden away in that ever-expanding budget of theirs
  24. Sorry I missed this thread y'all, I'm right on the FlGa border. I'm working on converting the property next door to a 1km+ range, but you can only get so much done by yourself, working 2 jobs, taking care of a family, etc. We need to get something going on, though. I used to go to the lines, Dawg, but the hunting clubs (and the county a time or two) ran me off with threats of "if we shoot you out here it's on you" as of late.
  25. Ever wonder where all that money from Sony and Hello Kitty panty dispensers goes? 2020 Mobile Suit Gundam! I would SO take over a small country to sit in the head of one of those. Hell, I'd probably take over a small country in one of those <lmao> Edit: The Russians and Americans are about 4 decades behind the Japanese on armored suits, apparently manga's been around FOREVER!!!
