  1. Howdy from the Texas side of the borders (and an unfortunate blue county in a red state).
  2. Thank all of you who have served.
  3. Just be careful of where she inserts the hose!
  4. You saw where Colorado went in this election. Nice place to visit but I wouldn't live there again!
  5. Now, if they were democommies rather than deer......
  6. The key is intended. As I said, I never saw the buck until he expired. I take no credit for special skill!!!!!
  7. Strange things can happen to bullets as they travel. I have no pictures since there is no cell reception at our lease so I don't carry a phone (although I will from now on). The Sunday before last I was sitting on a trail, about 135 yards out, and a white tail doe was moving along slowly, stopping to feed and then poking her head up above the bushes. Since we had an abundance of doe tags, and only a few buck tags, I decided to take this one so when she poked her head up I took a neck shot. She dropped and after waiting to see if she would move I walked down to where she lay and heard some noise on my left. Low and behold there was a 5 point buck with a very large hole in the boiler room, taking its last breath. When we skinned and quartered the doe, we found entry and exit wounds on the neck with a broken vertebrae. The entry and exit wounds were at nearly right angles. Apparently the bullet, a Sierra Game King 165 grain spitzer boat tail on a trimmed, used case over 42.4 grains of 414, deflected when it broke the vertebrae and tumbled into the buck's boiler room. They ended up about 30 feet apart although I don't know how far they were apart when I shot, I never saw the buck even though I had cleared the area behind the doe. Those game kings are killers. I have been using 165 grain SSTs on my .308 (the Faxon barrel loves heavier bullets) but had a few of these that I loaded on the 30.06. Both have proven to be very accurate in my hand loads but I am now concerned with using these soft points for anything but direct boiler room shots. Neither of the bullets, the Game King or the SST, have any issues feeding in the bolt 30.06, but the SSTs feed without any hiccups in the AR .308 while I have had one or two hangups with the soft point game kings..
  8. I believe new magazines are limited to 15 although magazines owned prior to the ban are grandfathered in Colorado. I believe the magazine capacity limitation applies to all firearms, including handguns.
  9. Lived in Colorado in the 80s and it was great until the California rejects started to arrive. Still have a college roommate who lives there and still likes it but he is retired Air Force (full colonel) and lives in a neighborhood that is almost all retired military. He says the slums of Denver and some of the mountain areas are going downhill fast because of the drugs. Texas is a better choice, and has much milder winters.
  10. My first .308 build was on a Spikes upper, and it is DPMS pattern (I married it to a Faxon barrel and it is a tack driver).
  11. A democommie voter perhaps!
  12. Howdy from the Texas side of the borders.
  13. I have two of the G2s installed, one on a 15 build and one on the Grendel. Excellent trigger that work beautifully on both but I am using the KNS anti-rotation pin sets on both.
  14. Howdy from the Texas side of the borders. I put a non-adjustable .875 diameter low profile block on my 6.5 Creedmore build from Ground Zero Precision. It functions perfectly in my setup, your results may vary.
  15. Based on what was on the news tonight, the debts have not been forgiven. They still say some of the soldiers should have known that they didn't deserve the bonus and may still have to repay. Nothing regarding those who have repaid.
  16. Be careful if you use their 6.5 Grendel ammo. That was recalled. That was the ammo where I experienced the triple fire from the Grendel I just built. It works just fine with Hornady Whitetail.
  17. No, it was simply a writer who was the product of a government school.
  18. It is, but the budget says that a left handed 870, like the one I had in college, makes more sense. I am not so old that I can't work the pump right handed.
  19. I have the same issue, left eye dominant and VERY right handed. It took some practice but it is now very comfortable for me to shoot from the left side. Going to triggers with very light pull has helped quite a bit since I don't have the dexterity with the left hand that I do with the right. You will be surprised that with practice it becomes more natural with time. The ARs are no issue and there is no need for a special left handed model. That is not the case with bolt action guns like my Ruger American 30.06, or with pump or automatic shotguns.
  20. I watched him perform several times, in the Shrike and the 51. He is flying higher now.
  21. Howdy from the Texas side of the borders.
  22. Just Obama showing his gratitude to the troops.
  23. I understand the DNC now wants to ban Komodo Dragons for being bullies.
  24. The ones I saw before they became scarce were a bit over $600 without the rail.
