  1. I have one on order as well. I think the group buy was what got his supplier up in arms.
  2. Howdy from the border.
  3. Not with this or a Hillary administration in charge.
  4. There are three whitetails in my freezer that were taken this year between 150 and 225 yards with my 18" Faxon barrel. On the range it is in the kill zone at 400 yards 100% of the time as long as I don't screw up.
  5. I have one raw set (80% lower and stripped upper) plus jig and an 80% anodized lower and jig from another manufacturer on order. Apparently everyone is scared of the SOCTUS changes because the backorder on both is six to eight weeks (both are .308, not .223).
  6. Howdy from the border just on the good side of the new Trump wall.
  7. Welcome from the border, on the correct side of the new Trump wall!
  8. Howdy from the border.
  9. ^^Is that like a bullet button or a 10 round magazine?
  10. And they (Joe Bob) are still advertising the forged upper.
  11. You are correct GRA, mine is a forged set. The billet set is still not on their site which seems very interesting.
  12. No, they have never had it on their site. I got my set last summer and the finished product put three whitetails in the freezer. Add a Faxon 18" barrel, slash's buffer and spring and a MechArmor trigger and it is a wonderful performer. I put a Miculek brake on and it has very little recoil.
  13. Not sure why Spikes never brought this up on their own site. I bought the lower from Joe Bob's and the upper from an armory in Ohio. They really made a nice pair, fit perfectly, and have run like a top.

Howdy and welcome from the border.
  15. I have Faxon 16" (5.56) and 18" (7.62) QPQ barrels. Both are very light and very accurate (limited only by the trigger puller). I would recommend them to anyone wanting a lightweight barrel that does not sacrifice accuracy. Both barrels like heavier projectiles (69g to 77g for the 5.56 and 165g to 175g for the 7.62). They also do well with lighter projectiles but really shine with the heavier bullets.
  16. I bought quite a few of those the last time they ran that sale and they are quality bullets. My .308 with a 1:10 twist loves them.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Like you, I built a 308AR as my first build. Everything I needed to know was found on this site, so just look around and keep reading. The folks here will help you spend your money, but they will also help you spend it wisely. Last fall I built my first 308AR and this season I put three whitetail bucks in the freezer with that rifle and the ammo that I hand loaded. It makes the meat taste really good! The down side is that I have now built 2 AR-15s and am looking at other calibers to add to the storage cabinet, wait, there is nothing down about that!

    New Guy

Welcome from the border. I have two Faxon barrels, an 18" for the 7.62 and a 16" pencil for the 5.56. Both are extremely accurate and very light.
  22. Welcome from the border and +1 on the MechArmour for a single stage trigger.
  23. Another MechArmor trigger for me.
  24. Welcome from the border.
