  1. Agree on the 300 Blackout. It was a tough choice but I went with the 6.5 Grendel, at least first, but I do have some parts laying around.......
  2. Apparently they didn't shoot him, they blew him up!
  3. Our communist Administration, and the communist party candidate, have together fomented anarchy domestically and made America less safe internationally. Our hearts and prayers go out to the 5 deceased officers and their families.
  4. In both Florida and Texas (I have taken the course and been licensed in both states), the typical concealed carry class advises that when stopped while carrying keep your hands on the top of the wheel and advise the officer that you are licensed, there is a weapon in the car, the location of the weapon, and ask what would you like me to do. If you think about it, this approach makes the most sense. Particularly after the murders in Dallas I would expect that police officers will be far more cautious during any interaction, I know I would be, so a large measure of discretion is appropriate to help these heroes do a dangerous job.
  5. I would suggest that you first decide what you want the rifles to be used for, hunting, target, SHTF, etc. Then you can move to some basic decisions. I have built 5, 2 5.56 rifles, 1 ar308, a 6.5 Grendel (on a 5.56 receiver set) and a 6.5 Creedmore (on an AR308 receiver set). The Grendel is very lightweight and will be used for hunting, as is the ar308 and possibly the Creedmore. The two 5.56s are for SHTF scenarios (one trunk one home). But keep in mind they are like potato chips, you can't eat (have) just one!
  6. Howdy from the Texas side of the border(s). If you hang around here long enough you aren't done!

  8. The post isn't nearly as scary as where the communists are taking this nation.

    Grilling

    What grill?
  10. Today is July 4, Independence Day. Independence is more than the Second Amendment, it is all of the first 10 and the text of the Constitution (After 10 I am not so sure). It represents the fundamental right of Americans to make their own decisions, good or bad; to be responsible for themselves and their families; and to be free from governmental direction of their lives when that direction is unnecessary in terms of preserving the nation. Over the years, many, like my father, have fought to maintain these rights, others have worked in the political process and voted to achieve the same end. This year in particular our nation is challenged with a philosophy that is absolutely in opposition to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. It is a philosophy that has permeated every Administration since Reagan, using a strategy outlines by Saul Alinsky. We must reaffirm our belief in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in everything that we do and not avoid fulfilling our responsibilities as Americans, including the simple activity of voting, even if it is for the candidate who least represents the Alinsky paradigm. Least anyone forget - In orther words, don't be a Useful Idiot!

  12. While my Ruger American 30.06 is only about 8 lbs. with the Vortex Viper PST scope I am working on a 6.5 Grendel using a polymer lower. I don't have a scope mounted yet so I haven't weighed it, but it appears as if it will be lighter than the Ruger, even with the 18" HBAR barrel. It will definitely be lighter than the AR308 at around 10 lbs,, but it really isn't too heavy to carry around for a day. The lease has some very rugged areas so I wanted something just a bit lighter. For setting up at a distance I also have built a 6.5 Creedmore on a 308 set with a 20" barrel so I will have quite a variety this fall. Building your own gives you many options.
  13. Getting that mini-mill and working on the 80% receivers is definitely a house mouse duty - you can always point to cleaning up the chips!
  14. But Islam is not the issue according to the Administration. People better wake up before this kind of attack is a regular occurrence on US soil. How can so many have their heads up their butts so far?
  15. Is Fast and Furious still underway?
  16. Does that even fit on a half track?
  17. That is a certainty and the reason this election is so important.
  18. OK, here is the start. I got a 20" Ballistic Advantage 6.5 Creedmore barrel to go with my raw upper and 80% lower from Daytona Tactical, The Wilson blemish BCG is included as well as a no-name compensator. I added a Magpul MOE rifle stock with UTG front end. I painted most of this with Brownell's paint. I'm waiting on the go and no-go gauges to check the e.
  19. Gun control is using both hands - and nothing else.
  20. I have one bolt stop that has the same (or worse) effect as you describe. It appears to be a fraction higher that the others I had laying around. I switched it with one that looked a bit lower and everything worked just fine. I put it in another setup just to try and it bound again, about halfway back with the charging handle whether there was a round in the chamber or not.
  21. I lived there for about 10-years, and toward the end heard more Spanish being spoken than here in El Paso where 80% of the population is Latino.
  22. You mean like translating "Allah" as "God" in the released transcripts, even though those terms mean quite different things to a primarily Christian population. They can all kiss my butt!
  23. Completely and irretrievably incompetent!
